Downloaded it at 6am, this site hasn't reported it, not seen it mentioned anywhere, can't find it on google... I wish Switch did what PS4 did and let us check update history.
It's probably net code stuff but I still always hope for bonus stages being added back in.
If you are talking about classic bonus stages from the first version of the game I agree it would be great to have them they were a lot of fun and added a nice touch to the game, I always missed them in every version where they were not present.
But I think it is just a netcode or stability update too I did not notice anything different than before the update
