Topic: Any games that are online with a "grinding" style play?

I was curious if the Switch currently has any games that can be played online that have a way to make a character you play better. Currently I play FIFA 19 online and I enjoy that I can build up my squads and sell and buy cards to make my team better. I own Diablo 3 and I do enjoy the fact that I can level up and earn better gear and then make a build around that gear. Are there any other online games on the Switch that offer something similar to this? I also own Warframe but it is difficult to find other real players in the game now.

Was going to suggest Warframe but you covered that. Can’t believe it’s dead. I never struggle to find people on pc.

@Yorumi I was shocked also, in the beginning I was always matched with a full party, now it never happens.

@crazylegs104 Monster Hunter can qualify. While it has no traditional level ups, it has a great online mode and repeatedly fighting monsters to get the right parts to make better weapons and armor is an addicting feedback loop. And while it can be grindy, the combat is fun enough to keep it from being tedious.

Dauntless will be coming soon. It's a less complicated Monster Hunter clone.

There's also Phantasy Star Online 2 coming. I've not played it yet, but if it's like the first then it's a good fit.

Is it though?

I haven't seen confirmation for platforms other than Xbox.

I'm aware of the Phil Spencer quote. Unfortunately that doesn't guarantee anything. The context of that quote could easily be in reference to PC and Xbox only. Even though PSO2 is on PS4 and Switch in Japan, that means little in regards to a possible western release on those platforms, until Sega of America issues a statement. Although personally I would prefer PS4 over Switch simply because that is where most of my online friends play.

It sounds like you are looking for Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate.

@Magician True, and there's also the fact that they said we'd get the game in 2012. So I guess we'll have to wait and see.
