Hi, I don't think this belongs in the NX forum , but I couldn't find any general Nintendo chat forum .
Dear Nintendo ,
As a keyboard monkey for a reasonably well established third party , I'd first like to say I love you guys when it comes to your imagination and for carving new pathways into the ever expanding winding maze that is the gaming industry . And I respect you for your integrity. Not to say that you're saints - personally your treatment of let's players is extremely backwards.
I just wanted to put in my two cents on your future of home console entertainment . We love your crazy control schemes , we secretly play games in off screen mode in the office using the gamepad. Your innovative ways of playing games makes us smile because we finally get to work on something new and creative rather than just doing simple and boring ports as your rivals tend to be. But be weary - our bosses and their accountants see difference = more money to spend .Your architecture provides problems and we have to work 6 times longer getting a game to work at a quality we're pleased with on your systems. It's a headache and time is money.
May I make a suggestion ? Your greatest innovation is in your software - look at Splatoon. Only Nintendo could have dreamt up that amazing game. It's here where you should focus on innovation. True innovation doesn't come from your PowerPC architecture - it came from the fantastic software you create.
The magic with you was always with your games, not a silly stick you waggle about. Mario Galaxy wasn't great because of the collection of star bits with the Wii remote!
Give us a platform that we can easily plonk our code on, and dare I say have a unique controller sold separately and use software with exclusive features to sell the control system separately. Or innovate like Valve did with the Steam Controller. Again we love innovative control but I'd rather be making a game for your system than have our accounting department say no in the first place.
