Topic: Account/Save Data Transfer Question

My boyfriend has been using my switch on his own account but I bought all the games with my Account, he didn't buy any through his. He's been thinking about getting his own switch recently so my question is: Will his game save data still transfer with his account even though he won't have any of the games on his switch? Cuz he wants to buy breath of the wild himself and would like to keep the save data if possible!

Not yet. I do think we will get cloud saves whenever the online program finally rolls out tho. Maybe then.

If he transfers his account to a new Switch, the save data will come with it. But not the games themselves. It will be like using a physical release of the game. So if he bought BotW on his new system, or a physical copy of the game, his save should be there. But he can't just download games that are attached to your account.

@PikoV2 : The games will not transfer, but if he transfers his profile from your Switch to his, then all of his save data will migrate to his system.

My girlfriend and I just did this with StardewValley and can confirm that after buying the game on her new switch all her saves were there!
