Hi all hubby has a switch but my sister has asked if my 10yr old niece can borrow it for a couple of days to see if she likes it before buying her own.
As he has a Larry game on that which is not appropriate for her to see he wants to know if we can set up a trial account/ profile for her so she wont see his games?

The Switch has parental controls that can restrict the games that can be played on the system.
Specifically, games can be restricted by their PEGI rating. From what I can gather, you won't be able to restrict a single user account - all will be prohibited from playing it, but it works by requiring a pin code to circumvent, so your husband will still be able to access the game. I glanced over this article, and it should tell you what you need to know in regards to this:

I don't think it's possible to physically hide games in the manner you require - they'll all appear on the console's dashboard regardless of which account is logged in, but another option would be to uninstall the offending game and reinstall it once your husband gets it back - that is, if doing so wouldn't be a particular hassle.

Do note, that if you take the second option, your niece could conceivably download the game, in which case you'll want to restrict the eShop.

You can always have "the talk" with her. Then perhaps it won't be so awkward when she sees the game.

Thank you for your reply. He managed to set up an account and put parental settings on the device.
He doesnt want to uninstall the game and lose his history on it.

She's 10. I'm sure she knows much more than we know and she may have already had the talk, however us having 'the talk' with her would not be our right.

Uninstalling the game keeps the save file, Louisa. However, parental controls should be good enough for your purpose, assuming she doesn't go hunting for information on the games on the web.

Thank you I think it's just because the picture icon of the game in the top left hand corner isnt something she needs to see lol

@Louisa80 Also you want to make sure she have a NIN account that will allow for eShop games she wants or likes to try if they are free or wants to buy. If this is already done then this is good as when she gets her own Switch then she can transfer the game data over to the new Switch and start right away. So check with NIN FAQ Switch they have a wealth of information on this subject.
