Alright let's set the basics: 1) I currently have the money saved up to just walk to any store and buy a switch 2) I am a very impatient person 3) I'm a massive Animal Crossing fan 4) I've never owned a switch. Should I clench my teeth for another 85 days and see if nintendo releases an AC themed switch or should I bite the bullet and just get a switch now to play other games to fill the time?
If an Animal Crossing special edition Switch is coming, that's when it'll be shown.

@Magician Embarrassingly I didn’t even register the thought of a direct ... Thank you :’D January is so soon that I’ll definitely wait at least until then
I think an Animal Crossing Switch is very, very likely (a Lite is more likely than a regular one, if that makes any difference to you). There were Animal Crossing themed 3DS XL, New 3DS XL, and New 2DS XL consoles, not to mention the Animal Crossing plates available for the New 3DS as well.
"Gee, that's really persuasive. Do you have any actual points to make other than to essentially say 'me Tarzan, physical bad, digital good'?"
I agree with @Silly_G ... If there is going to be an Animal Crossing Switch, it will be a Lite. They can manufacture a short run of those more cost effectively, and it goes well with the mobile nature of Animal Crossing.
More than likely if Nintendo does a themed Switch or Switch Lite it would most likely come pretty close to the release of the game. There is a new animal Crossing game coming out later this year Called new horizons on the Switch.

@showercurtain If you can wait then wait, unless they come out with a Lite version of Animal Crossing. You will be able to find more Switch after Spring most likely when production catches up. As to a Lite version Animal Crossing make sure to have a Twitter account to hear the latest news as well. There you can catch upcoming Press Release or what's coming down the pipe. If there is new of a Pro Switch that would be something to see and Switch owners would be ready to upgrade again as well.
