Hi Guys,

anyone of you havin success on connecting the 8BitDo FC30 pro (or other models like N30 pro, SN30 pro) with latest controller FW 4.10 and latest Switch Firmware? I have the first revision, not the Pro 2.

I did not use my FC30 pro for roughly one year and wanted to play Blossom Tales with it now (yay!), but I have zero success in connecting it to the Switch now. I even reseted all existing controller connections and reconnect every single controller again, but no success.

Unfortuately, the controller is listes as "discontinued" and I´m a little upset that this 1,5 years old controller seems to have reached it end of life due to missing FW updates.

I already reached out to 8BitDo but still wait for a reply (just wrote the mail half an hour ago).
The controller connects to Windows still, so it seems not to be a general issues. I also flashed the firmware of the Pro 2 controller which causes the Pro 1 to freak out and not work at all (luckily, it can still be set to flash mode and the old FW can be reflashed ).

Maybe someone else had the issue before or any idea or solution! As 8BitDo is normally highly praised for their products, I am a little disappointed that it seems like they stopped support for their older products.

Thanks,
Mazzel

I'm pretty sure it connect just like a pro controller. Maybe try a USB connection or however it charges? I don't really use 3rd party stuff, so I can't really help. Although, I am kind of interested in the windows functionality. How well does it play?

I do stupid stuff on youtube.com/mysticbros, so check it out if your bored or whatever.
Or don't, it's your time after all.

@MysticGengar I haven't used it for any Games on Windows, yet. Just tried if it connects
On the switch it played Pretty good, especially for the price. The new version even has Gyro as far as I know.
I only use it for retro on Switch, but didn't have too many retro games until the recent sales.

Short update, if anyone ever encounter this problem, here is my solution:

Delete all connected controllers again and then sync the 8BitDo controller first. Worked for me

I delete all controllers before, but first added my Joy Cons and the Or Controller before I tried to sync the 8BitDo. That didn´t work...

Not really true here it doesn't connect directly like the Joy-Cons or Pro that does it wireless without 3rd party devices. So there could be some kinda hardware update issues that is the problem here. As for Windows if you got a dongle and BT it seems to take almost any controllers that work that way. I for one if the 3rd can't do the same type of wireless connections the Joy-Con and Pro controller has then it's not for me. Too much in-between to just get a 3d party controller to work and or not work is a waste of money.

@SwitchForce yes they do. The 8bitdo controllers connects directly and just as easily as a pro controller via Bluetooth.

@redd214 yes, if it works, then it works great
But as far as I read during my "research" on my problem, people often need to sync the 8BitDo controllers again after a FW update of the switch. But as long as I have some way to connect it, I'm happy!

@SwitchForce: after syncing it's actually shown as a Pro Controller on the Switch.

@mazzel yeah we usually have to resync ours often but once it's paired they're fine. Terrific little controllers!
