Stardew Valley, Overcooked!, The Escapists 2, Rocket League, Super Mario Odyssey and ARMS will probably make up the rest of my gaming year ..there are a few other games that are on my 'maybe' list if I'm feeling flush and decide to treat myself - but, even if I can't afford anything else, I still think that it looks like I'm in for an absolute treat for the rest of 2017!

@NaviAndMii It's crazy, isn't it? 60 game releases in 9 months sure beats the Wii U! I'm still remaining cautious for 2018, however. (We never know what spanners Nintendo can throw into the works )

Personally, I still only have Breath of the Wild but will definitely be emptying my pockets on the DLC now I've finished it, plus Mario+Rabbids, Splatoon, Yooka-Laylee, FIFA 18, Xenoblades and Steep. Here's to a great 2017!

LOL the majority of those are indie eshop releases. So much 'reaching' going on here.

Currently Playing: TMNT II: The Arcade game
80's Fanatic & King of NES Tekkidome!

Joytendo22

@WaveBoy No one's denying it. They'll need lots of support from quality indies for the time being, which they are getting. I feel most people would agree there are some really good gems to be found on this list (and it's around 50:50, to be fair).

super mario odyssey and splatoon 2 are most important games which i want these year for switch , but if can or afford maybe i buy xc 2 , arms , mario and rabbids battle kingdom also i like to have mk8 deluxe and zelda bow (from released games)

one of the most important things for video games is gameplay not graphics (also game contents is very important for me)

Super Mario Odyssey, Splatoon 2, Rocket League, Both Sonics and Elder Scrolls. Possibly Steep.... Thats it for me on that list though...

There are many games that I'd like to add to my library, but I'm not sure many of them will be Day 1's, mostly due to the price factor with Switch tax.

My top tier from that list are FIFA 18, Stardew Valley, Runner 3 and Super Mario Odyssey.

Second tier for Splatoon 2, BotW DLC, Skyrim, Binding of Isaac.

Edit: I forgot Rocket League in Tier 2. I've only just bought it for PC, but it does seem perfect for Switch.

Right now in my head, it's all horses, horses, horses, food, and horses.

Currently playing: Zelda: Breath of the Wild - Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Yoshi's Woolly World

Switch Friend code: SW-3124-5612-5724 - I like to keep a tight list of peeps I'm familiar with.

XC2 and Super Mario Odyssey are definites for me, Fifa is just under, and I'll run the rule over Splatoon 2, Mario+Rabbids and Arms. Maybe Skyrim - but not likely if I'm sinking hours into Mario and Xenoblade.

Missing from there are Hollow Knight and SteamWorld Dig 2, which are high on my radar. Oh, and both Sonics look cool, but I actually like the look of Forces more, with its mix of styles.

@Joytendo22 Yeah, it's a pretty solid year 1 line-up - certainly compared to the WiiU's launch...I like to have choice - and I feel that this year I have more than enough of a selection to cherry-pick from

I've only got Zelda and Mario Kart so far - I never played the original MK8, so I'm really happy with that...and Zelda just speaks for itself! I wasn't originally planning on getting ARMS, but the Testpunch did enough to convince me that I need it in my life! ..then there's Mario - always a winner! I'd love to get Skyrim and Splatoon 2 too, but I don't think my budget will quite stretch that far this year...

...that's why the Nindie's are so great - Stardew Valley, The Escapists 2, Overcooked! & Rocket League (possibly Snipperclips too) all look super-fun & should add quite a bit of variety to my library without breaking the bank! ..should keep me topped up nicely I feel like I'll have most bases covered!

@WaveBoy No reaching from my end. Year 1 line-ups are rarely spectacular - I'd say that Nintendo have exceeded my personal expectations....better than the PS4 and XBOne had in their first year in my opinion, so I think they nailed it. Sure, we want to see more going forward - but if Nintendo keep riding this wave, I have no doubt that the third-party titles will start rolling in to cash in on the Switch's success. They'd be foolish not to...

...and don't knock Indies - I'd argue that the Indie scene is where the bulk of the creativity is in the gaming industry right now! I think that it's great that Nintendo (and others) are giving these devs a platform to flourish in...there are some real gems in Indie gaming - dismiss them at your own cost!

Dandara and Towerfall are slated for a Switch release in 2017.

Zelda: Has goat, is GOAT.

You can't just offer a list for people to respond to, get responses, and then change the list! Now we all look like Hollow Knight haters, whereas in actual fact I'd have put it in my Top Tier. I mean what is this thread - the 'Make everyone look stupid, content subject to change' thread?

While Hollow Knight is in my Top Tier, I haven't bought a single eshop Switch game yet because of the annoying potential for physical releases to turn up later. My approach is 'wait for sale'.

Right now in my head, it's all horses, horses, horses, food, and horses.

Indies or not, there's a lot of quality in that list. The vast majority of those games will be at least "Good".If you were to list a "50 upcoming Wii U games" from any stage of its life at least half of them could be disregarded immediately. It'd be made up of games from RCMADIAX,Skunk Software,EnjoyUp and the likes. The Switch's library so far is also made up mostly of good to great games.Vroom in the Night Sky is the only real stinker so far.Not counting that, the next 2 lowest rated games are Mr Shifty and Has Been Heroes. That says something about the quality of it's line up when those are the worst games on the system.By the time all of the games in that list arrive, those 2 will probably still be among the worst ten games on the system.

Peek-a-boo

It's a great list, especially for the first year of a new platform.

If you have had a PC or PlayStation 4 in the past couple of years then, bar the Nintendo games and the odd indie game or two, the canvas doesn't paint a comparatively compelling picture. A handful of indie games such as Stardew Valley and SteamWorld Dig 2, for example, feels like a better fit on the Switch though.

Still, for those of you who only stick with Nintendo, it's definitely a line-up worth getting excited about!

Peek-a-boo

NaviAndMii

@Peek-a-boo Absolutely

In terms of first-party games, we're absolutely blessed this year - any year when Nintendo release a new Zelda and Mario is HUGE! ..then there's Splatoon 2, ARMS, Fire Emblem - Xenoblade on the horizon - great selection!

The selection of Indie games is great too...from Rocket League and Stardew Valley - to Snipperclips, Overcooked! and Fast RMX - there's something for everyone...top, top quality titles! (..and hopefully a few hidden gems too!)

Things are perhaps a little light on the third-party front as far as large publishers are concerned - but there are perhaps some mitigating circumstances...you can totally understand the cautious, 'wait and see' approach that major studios are taking - after the WiiU, it's perhaps to be expected that third-partied haven't jumped straight in with both feet...but it's clear that Nintendo have taken steps to ensure that there is some quality third-party software in year 1 - with FIFA, NBA, Skyrim, Rabbids etc., Nintendo have gone out of their way to reel these titles in ($$$) - if they sell (which seems likely) and the Switch itself continues to shift major units, it'll only be a matter of time before these types of games start rolling in more regularly

Overall, it's a very strong year 1 line-up - the only real 'gap' I can see is in the 'competitive FPS' genre...if we get one of those before too long, the Switch will have most bases will be covered

@gcunit Oooh, well someone woke up on the wrong side of bed today! If you think I put this list of games up to make people look stupid then you have a very warped mindset. Lists like these take a lot of time and effort to put together and can't be expected to be 100% accurate from the get go. It will continue to be updated as more games become announced. I'm sorry you don't appreciate my efforts.
