This is far from confirmed. Infact I'd argue it's still less likely to happen than just a Wii U release. Remember the same theories were thrown around before Skyward Sword and look how accurate those were.

@rallydefault Can I be honest? When Zelda Wii U is released ONLY on Wii U, I am going to sit back and laugh at your conspiracy theories. I mean, seriously. I looked at the previous page of this thread and looked at your reasoning for this theory, and in all honesty, you're REALLY grasping at the straws here.

People are still arguing about whether Zelda U is going to be released on the Wii U or NX?

Does it really matter? It'll be a good game regardless, and it's likely it'll be playable on both consoles due to backwards compatibility.

2016 marks the 30th anniversary of Zelda being delayed. If I had time I would go back through every Zelda game, see when it was expected, compare it to when it was released and figure out how many of those 30 years were spent waiting lmao. Actually I may do that....but seriously, Zelda delays are not unusual nor are they a signal / sign / indicator / conspiracy theory.

I suspect that when the inevitable does happen you won't say a thing and nobody else will care. As has happened many times with people making this sort of prediction in the past. Speculation isn't interesting once there's nothing left to speculate about. Hell, this whole line of thinking in this thread might well be squashed entirely when we find out what the NX actually is and/or its timeline.

Infact the main reason why I don't buy this theory is because of the number of things that have to line up perfectly for it to happen. The NX has to be a home console, it has to be a 2016 launch and it has to be something they've known about already. And ontop of all of that Nintendo has to be deliberately misleading us about what their plans for Zelda U are given that they are still saying "Wii U 2016"

If NX is backwards compatible then there is no issue. Otherwise Zelda U would probably appear on the NX eshop or as a GOTY edition. Look how many Zelda games are available on the Wii U!! So even though I do not think Nintendo are somehow trying to make the game for the NX, I don't think anyone can rule out it eventually arriving in some form (especially if the NX is as a big hit as we all hope.)

Zelda U is coming to Wii U. This has been confirmed so many times (most recently in the Direct itself) that at it's simply useless to argue that it won't come to Wii U. These conspiracy theories only started to pop up once NX was announced. People seem to forget, NX was only announced because a lot of people were questioning whether Nintendo would still be making consoles, and the announcement of NX was Nintendo's way of telling people that there would be a brand new Nintendo console after Wii U/3DS. In no way does this mean Zelda U is coming to NX, because that bases itself on the premises that the NX is a home console AND is coming out 2016. I'm not denying the possibility of Zelda U eventually coming to NX (via port, backwards compatibility, etc.), but the argument that Zelda U will be NX only, or dual-NX-Wii U release next year seems entirely far-fetched, because it has no solid evidence (we know NOTHING about the NX). If I'm proved wrong, I'll admit it, but with the given information, these theories just aren't very convincing.

Well keep in mind Nintendo says a lot of things...then backtracks on it.

Honestly if the NX is coming next year, releasing the new Zelda on it makes sense.

@LztheQuack: Dear Internet. 'Perfect sense' is not based on assumption and rumour. We don't know ANYTHING about the NX! How can it make sense!??!!! Honestly once the NX is announced and we have more concrete FACTS, then we would be in a much better position to speculate in any realistic fashion. This, to me, makes sense.

Allow me to interject. Nintendo is releasing a new system and they will put a high-profile game on it at launch. Make sense now or will you continue your apparently offended statements?
