Nintendo's relationship with cat owners began its decline with the release of the Wii. If a cat wasn't walking in front of the sensor bar disrupting the signal, it was surely sleeping on the lap of the gamer, who was then rendered unable to perform motion controls without waking their furry friend. Cats tripping up Balance Board users and cats falling asleep on gamers doing yoga poses on the floor quickly put an end to any hope of Wii fitness.
These problems only intensified with the release of the Wii U. Not only did the same cat related issues persist, but now there was the added problem of cats sleeping on the gamepad. This would block all visuals and interactions on the gamepad screen, as well as threaten the screen itself with the claws of rudely awoken cats.
Recently, however, we have seen Nintendo begin to recognize cat owners. Super Mario 3D World's cat ability is certainty the most prominent evidence of this. More recently, the inclusion of Judd the cat in an otherwise all sea creature game must be considered, as well as the cat paw in Mario Maker.
Is this a sign that the NX will be Nintendo's triumphant return to cat friendly gaming?
What with all the recent censorship Nintendo's been putting in to western localization of games, I think it will be a long time before we see any pussy on Nintendo hardware.

There's a reason why the consoles come in a box. You're supposed to let the cat use the box so you can play games without getting distracted. Geez, doesn't anyone read the manual?
