Besides wanting a better E-Shop (where you can find all of the games instead of having to try and remember them...Wii had a good one), I'd also like to see a Trophy type element...they can easily do a Amiibo Trophy type thing, where you see various figures or images when you earn them. Other than that, I think they've done a good job with their systems, but some small features could be: A bigger hard drive, faster load times, fast downloads (like the New 3DS has), more virtual console games (have all of the ones currently available, available on day one, and then add some newer ones)...also, it would be nice to have Nintendo Video on their console, and be able to buy and download some of those videos to watch over and over again, instead of waiting for them to re-appear. Another good feature would adding a Bluray DVD player to it...just to make certain people happy, but also to help nintendo compete for a console that will always be hooked up and used.

All in all, bring on the NX and make it nintendo's next big system!!!!

Introducing the Nintendo NX's new innovative feature: normal gameplay! No more control gimmicks! Just play the game normally for once! Amazing!

If you add me, I need to at least know you or I won't add you back.

What about outside of hardware. Any online feature or OS features you'd like to see?

Currently Playing: Steamworld Heist, The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, Tales of Graces F

Online wise I hope it is a bit stabler because sometimes splatoon acts a fool online. the way the OS looks shouldnt change I like how sleek and fluid it is.

Playing: Wargroove on Switch and Fire Emblem on GBA

My main wish would be that they got 3rd parties on board to make Nintendo franchises that would otherwise be dormant like Waverace, 1080', F-Zero, Eternal Darkness, Disaster, Geist etc. EA would do a decent job with motion controlled games. I still can't believe there's no 1080 game that uses the balance board.

Would also like cloud saves. Every time I move my Wii U I worry that it's a spillage or fall away from not working again and losing almost 10 years of gaming memories.

.

I only posted this to get my avatar as the forum's thumbnail.

@Nintenjoe64: Does Disaster really count as a dormant franchise? It didn't even come to NA because of NoA thinking the game's quality was too bad to be associated with.

I'd love a hololens type product. No tv screens necessary ever.

At least, I hope they keep the super stable 3d. It's awesome.

Woah. That's a really cool gimmick. It would be cool to see if Nintendo picks it up and throw some magic into it. Might have to change the design and put in their own twist, since it looks pretty big and is just a rod (like the wiimote). Idk what gimmick they are aiming for, but i would put money that it is going to revolutionize like the Wii, since all that talk of "fun new ways of play" and trying to stay closed mouthed to keep from the other two stealing the idea. What do you think they can do with pressure sensitivity? Maybe remove buttons and put little rubber pads that you can just tap? I also want to see how they can take those ideas and put their "family" style to it, cause we know they aim to accessibility to everyone, not just pure gamers.

If it's a handheld (which I still believe): Nothing, as I've said before. Being the only (relevant) dedicated portable gaming device, it would be unique by default.
If it's a console, I think it might benefit from something that enhances local multiplayer, like native support for a buttload of controllers, or multi-monitor support. Also, if they want to compete with the rest of the 9th generation, they have to do something with VR, and have a proper online infrastructure, and sharing functionality, and third party support, and, and,

NX's goal is to fix the problems on Wii U.

It will support the gamepad optionally for backward compatibility and will be able to be sold cheaper than the Wii U because it doesn't include the gamepad.

It will be as powerful as PS4 and Xbox one and easy to port multi platform titles too. Nintendo want to lure these games back to their console.

It will have free online and improved online functionality and tie purchases to an account system.

It will be sold as a third pillar and many games will not require it's extra horsepower and so they plan on continuing to make Wii U games, at least initially as this could change depending on the success of the system. Games that require the extra horsepower will be NX exclusive games as most multiplats will be.

If handheld, then something like the surface tablet concept. The main unit is and iPod touch-like device with an attachable/detachable control pad. Like that smartboy concept basically. Except the pad would make it more DS like. I think this set up would be good to accomidate mobile ports.

I remember having a hissy fit and spent hours crying on forums because Mario's shoes weren't detailed enough.

@iKhan: I'd love to see the largest digital library to date available launch day. With rumors pointing to Nintendo aggressively moving away from the physical medium aspect. I mean nes, SNES, N64, GameCube, wii, wii u, GBA, DS and 3DS games all available from the get go. And hopefully a good amount of third party indie games as well, Rocket League for examples. Incorporate a similar "couple free games" a month model Microsoft and Sony are using now but with Nintendo games or drastically reduce the price for a week or couple weeks, month to month for some of the more popular and past generation Nintendo games. Super Mario sunshine for examples available as a $5 game for the month of October. While the original price would probably be $15-20. Just add some free or close to free incentive for the Nintendo fans in that way.

The NX should also have some wireless functionality with devices such as smartphones, official Nintendo handheld, and tablets. Where you can buy digital copies of Nintendo games on the NX and have the ability to play those games on your smartphone and such as long as that device is synced wirelessely /WiFi to the NX. Obliviously more graphically powered games not so much but like nes, SNES, N64, GBA, DS games etc. It's too easy now a days to Pirate/emulate official Nintendo games. Having something like I stated above would add convince and quality to the experience of playing a Nintendo game on your phone over playing a pirated version where the plug ins or and the emulator itself is not running up to pair with the games actual performance.

I like gimmicks. The GamePad was the coolest thing this generation, and I wouldn't mind something along those lines again.

Got married.
