@Octane This shouldn't be a Wii U 2.0, and I say that for the reasons just posted by others. All the massive games on 3DS (Animal Crossing, Monster Hunter, Pokemon etc). are now going to have their latest iterations on Switch - much better performance than N3DS, plus versatility to play on TV, so hopefully anyone that's ever loved thier DS/3DS/2DS should be attracted to this device. And EA have released FIFA on 3DS way after they gave up on Wii U.
The whole hybrid principle, from the outset, is about uniting the customer bases. Provided Nintendo hasn't lost too many fans this last 5 years, it should get good enough uptake to care of business.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
@Nicolai I was just looking for this thread to ask if anyone knows where I can buy a replacement kickstand from because I've already broken mine, but you've ninja'd me while I was reading the 'killed Switch' thread.
Grain of Salt Info
"I'm on a FB comment chain and a video game sales consultant from Best Buy is saying he was sourced the following information:
$349.99 retail
Ten games at launch, including the mystery Mario game
6 hour battery life
DS/3DS compatible (possibly only in portable mode)
Again, I don't know the guy, just a friend of a friend on FB. I expect skepticism, but I'm just adding to the discussion and potential points to discuss."
Just a random thing that got me thinking. My sister plays Just Dance on a Wii and Just Dance is confirmed for the Switch so my question is if the controllers have any kind of gyroscopes, motion sensors, etc. They don't have to since Just Dance supports mobile phones as controllers. I have to say it's really funny imagining someone taking a Switch to the school and randomly there are four people dancing in the hall.
I'm also surprised they didn't show if you can touch the screen or not. It would make sense for it to be a touchscreen due to Nintendo's history and also because they have some mobile developers as partners but I wonder why they didn't show it if it is a touchscreen.
It's its, not it's.

@gcunit That's true, but there's more than MH and Pokemon! If the price, for example, is $400, then I don't think many 3DS owners will easily upgrade to the Switch. As I said, there are many questions that need to be answered. I'd like to know more.
And my official Nickname for it is the "Ninty Switch".
...also, I can't help but feel like some child abuse jokes are hiding in the shadows, waiting to strike, like some digital Krampus, but I'll just tell myself that they'll be drowned out by the potential BDSM jokes instead.

The price tag seems expected. It's unfortunate, but it'll be required unless they sold it at a ridiculous loss, which they'd never do. I'm still surprised they even did that for the wii u. I'll definitely pre ordering for day one, regardless.
Both Emily Rogers and Laura Buzz are afirming the Switch will be region free. After their leaks this time, I feel inclined to believe them. What about you guys? Hope for a region free Switch?
Edit: Oops, it was already posted. That happens when I don't read...
longstanding region lock policy being switched (yay funnies!) is yet another tick in the box. Way overdue and was one of the biggest issues I had with the 3DS that I'm now abroad for a year and can't buy games for my portable system.
