No. It would also destroy the impact of Smash 5. I'd rather have to wait a year or two for a new Smash, than getting the same game at launch that I already own.
"A year or two"....LOL! That's a good one.
Is a new Smash by 2019 that crazy of an idea?
(pretty sure he means a year or two from the NX launch which is most likely 2017)
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

If they added some sort of story mode like Subspace Emissary, I'd get it. Smash 4 was a letdown to me since it didn't have an adventure or story mode like Melee and Brawl did.

@DarthNocturnal: Sm4sh had a 3-4 year development cycle excluding dlc, they are most likely already in the planning phase of the next Smash so I can't see it coming at the end of the NXs life unless they have issues during development.
How would you feel about having a definitive edition of Super Smash Bros. 4 on the NX? It would have all the content from both versions (3DS AND Wii U stages, Smash Run AND Tour) all the character (plus DLC) and stuff like that, or at least that's how I think it would play out.
Would you buy it?
This would be perfect if the NX ends up not being backwards compatible.

If it had the 3DS content as well, you'd still be getting more stuff than the Wii U version. I'd get it again even if it was backwards compatible.

No.
I don't want no definitive edition. I want a new game down the line. Smash is very successful and will continue with or without Sakurai. This would be like if Iwata re-released Melee and give it online.(This was actually an idea.)
Since I've already played the 3DS and Wii U versions, I wouldn't bother with a definitive NX version unless if a lot of my friends get it and want to do lots of multiplayer. A definitive version could be useful for attracting new people to the NX, so I'd like to see them do that.
Curious why this thread still is open on a Wii U forum (it's about a game for some other non-available platform+there's already Smash threads), while other threads are closed without even remotely that much of a reason for closing them.

But this is in the NX forum.

Assuming the NX releases in 2017 and is the successor to the Wii U, expecting a new Smash game in 2018 / 2019 isn't ridiculous at all.
No, because it would render Smash NX redundant, particularly as I doubt that an NX Smash Bros. game will move the series forward in any meaningful way. A content-rich Smash 4 with all DLC (70+ characters and dozens of stages) will appear to be a much more appealing value proposition than a relatively bare-bones Smash 5.
Would it run at 120fps? I'm kidding.
The games that need to be ported to NX are Zelda, Pokken, Mario Kart 8 (all DLC), and Splatoon (all DLC too). Wind Waker could be a download only port (why not make it available?).
