Topic: Compiling a List of Early Known Switch Games

For the sake of convenience, I have decided to open this thread for the sake of compiling any information, including rumours, regarding any game title coming or suspected to come to Nintendo's next generation of gaming platforms, the one currently dubbed as "Codename NX". Starting from today until the platform's official release in March 2017, I will list here all potential titles that are announced, hinted, or rumoured during this pre-launch period. As I said, this list is supposed to be for the convenience of others, so I would appreciate all the help I will get from you guys if you feel there is anything I missed.

This list below will be categorised into three groups: Officially announced titles, semi-confirmed titles, and rumoured titles. The first and third categories are self-explanatory, but the second one might be a little confusing - generally, 'semi-confirmed' titles may refer to any game title we know is in development or exists, and are suggested to be released for Nintendo's platform, but is not an entire certainty at that point in time. The list will be continuously updated based on any new information that comes to light, and I may include a fourth category called deconfirmed titles, which is a miscellaneous category for any confirmed or rumoured titles which are cancelled or debunked respectively. Titles will be linked to the original information provider, mostly on Nintendo Life itself if applicable, so you can be sure these were not made up. This list will not discriminate between AAA titles and smaller, indie releases. The following titles are not listed in any particular order for now.

Officially announced titles

Semi-confirmed titles

Rumoured titles

In an interview with Kensuke Tanabe, he suggested that it is too late to release a new home console Metroid title for the Wii U, however it does not mean there is a home console Metroid title in development at the time being.

In May 2016, it was finally confirmed that a test arcade cabinet housing a game known as Cruis'n Adventure appeared on an arcade venue in Chicago, Illinois, United States. The same cabinet was spotted in a different venue the previous year, but there was no information regarding a new Cruis'n game at the time. Nintendo is the main publisher of the Cruis'n series, and developer Raw Thrills confirmed they were licenced by Nintendo to release this game. They also confirmed that the game runs on an entirely new software engine, and is a "fraction" of what the game will be. Not much else was mentioned.

It worries me that NX won't have backwards compatibility, and I live my wii u games and want to move them to NX if possible, if not, I will keep my wii u. I also hope the console will start with a good VC list

@HopeNForever I really hope Nintendo do decide to launch with a proper 3D Mario title again, not the 3D world series. But this all depends on how safe Nintendo are going to play their games, which they do seem to have been doing a lot recently (playing it safe I mean).

Lol @ Untitled Misc.
What genre is this game? "Misc." That doesn't sound very appealing or like they care that much already. Of course look at Lost Reavers, what the hell are they doing over there?
Also ew Project Cars? The physical version goes on sale for every other system like 20 times a year for cheap, there are sales online all the time and they'll continue the Nintendo price gouging into the future with a permanently full priced NX version that will undoubtedly sell bad because most everyone who cares would have played it by then. Ubisoft should learn their lesson with that game from their Watch_Dogs WiiU fiasco as well. Irl I can't even imagine that happening, unless they're able to crap it out fast and cheaply.

Pikmin makes me nervous, it's only appeared on jinxed systems.

Well jk I guess Pikmin 2 did come on the Wii, but it was actually a GameCube game soooo...

Xbox is the only current Gen console (other than the Wii U) that is supporting any kind of backwards compatibility. This is not a deal breaker for me. I have been collecting consoles since the Atari 2600 and it is pretty rare for backwards compatibility to be offered on a console.

Wait!? Is it the revival of THAT Cruis'n series? I loved Cruis'n World & Cruis'n USA back in the N64 era.

I remember they tried bringing it back on the Wii, but I don't think it was that good, from what I hear.

Yes it is, and from some of the original people to boot, unlike that Wii atrocity.

I think the Cruis'n series is only partially owned by Nintendo, much like the case of the Project Zero/Fatal Frame series being owned between Nintendo and Koei Tecmo. Midway Games used to develop the games, especially for the arcades, but the company has since closed its doors in 2009, and so the Cruis'n series must be currently shared with Raw Thrills, the independent game developer co-founded by the Cruis'n series creator Eugene Jarvis. Raw Thrills is also currently home to many former Midway Games employees. At this point, we can presume without Midway Games, Nintendo is now the sole main publisher of the Cruis'n series, and Raw Thrills had to ask permission from Nintendo for the arcade release of Cruis'n Adventure.

Although the article linked by @SKTTR states that the Cruis'n Adventure arcade cabinet is a technical test of new hardware and software engine, there is no suggestion or guarantee the game itself (nor the arcade board included) is a reflection of Nintendo's development of their next platform. I made it a rule not to add anything to the list unless the included citation, rumour or otherwise, explicitly states the game title is coming to Nintendo's "Codename NX". However, I will add this information as footnote, along side the mention of a next Metroid title.

Apparently, rumours popped up that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword is getting an HD remaster for Nintendo's next console.

Thank you for taking the initiative and keeping up with this. Hopefully it becomes A LOT of work for you, because that means good things for the console.

Unknown title of a game Retro is currently developing

EDIT: you already added it in. Miyamoto said something about a 3D Mario much later down the line or something

The developer of World to the West hinted the game might come to new hardware. Nintendo's upcoming console was not specified, but adding it to the semi-confirmed category, just in case.

@FragRed Didn't Miyamoto say that they won't be showing the next one until E3 2017? Though I do agree with you.

I think a HD remaster of 64, Sunshine, and the two Galaxies would be amazing at launch as a substitution for a 3D Mario though.

@DBPirate He may well have said that, I don't know and am kinda finding it difficult to keep up with all the little snippets Nintendo keeps dishing out. If that is the case though, then I do feel they have missed a big trick as Nintendo needs NX to sell huge from day one, not beginning November 2017.

@justlink This is the most important thing for me too. I'm looking to buy a Wii U again (sold off in January), but if the NX is backwards compatible, I'll settle with that instead. Non-compatible isnt' an issue as the wii U has original wii game compatibility (in which case I'll both an NX and Wii U again). It's just the having to wait for several months that frustrates me.

Rumoured? With every other 3D Zelda game re-released in the past, at this point it's pretty much guaranteed. Question is, if true, what will this likely mean for motion controls?
