Probably Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts. I just purchased a PS2 and bought Kingdom Hearts 2 (even though I wanted the first one but it turned out to be the 2nd one in part 1's case!)

Unfortunately I missed out on those franchises because I've stuck with Nintendo my whole life:/

@Bluefiregamer

Hey it's ok! I actually traded my Wii U for a New 3DS XL! Now I find myself playing more Gamecube, 3DS, and Wii more than I ever played with my Wii U.

I'm quite happy with my trade:)

@Souldin: Red Steel 1 or 2? I hope 2, that first game was absolute garbage.

Actually, I was referring to the first Red Steel game. It currently stands as my favourite FPS game of all, with the control scheme helping a lot with that, what with me being terrible at most other FPS games.

I have played a bit of Red Steel 2, and do own it, but I didn't actually enjoy it quite as much. I preferred the setting of the first game and it's focus on the shooting over the swordplay. From what little I did play of Red Steel 2, the gun seemed fairly useless and they were often encouraging you to use the sword instead. I did admittedly not play much of it, so I do plan to revisit it someday and give it a second chance.

Yeah, you didnt play much of it.

Their was so much in game talk about the swordplay because it was a lot more complicated than the gunplay, and had a lot more to learn than the instantly digestable point and shoot.

But with four guns, each with their own upgrade path, and unique powerups (Ricochet bulets, armor peircing, armor destroying, explosive rounds etc), and super cool move upgrades for the guns, they remain an integral part of the gameplay throughout the entirety of the game, as point multipliers, damage dealers, finishers, and decoy/weakness finders. The gunplay in red steel 2 craps on the first from orbit. Everything in red steel 2 gameplay wise craps on the first from orbit.

That gif of Red Steel 2 looked pretty awesome, and from what you've said, it sounds like there are a lot of cool things in Red Steel 2 that I never got around to. I plan on starting a Wii review series of YouTube videos at some point, for now my channel focuses on let's plays alongside my brother, and within that series I'll naturally revisit Red Steel 2. It'll be nice to play through it all and see what I missed out on.

@Souldin: First time I've heard someone prefer the first game over the second one.

Given what Indy83 has mentioned, it could be the case that I'll end up preferring Red Steel 2 once I've played through all of it. For now though my preference does lie with the original Red Steel, a game I do enjoy quite a lot.

A Resident Evil game (preferably one like the first Revelations game) would be very appreciated on the NX. And maybe Final Fantasy 7.

God first.

Skate (if it has an eight-way gated trick-stick (eight-way gated like the NGC controller thumbstick)). It'd make Skate so much better it just seems crazy to me that it hasn't happened yet.

If enough people will buy a skate-board peripheral controller to make developing one viable, then dedicated controller with a gated trick-stick should be totally possible.

A sequel to Crimson Skies High Road to Revenge, but where you can choose in the game settings to land the planes manually.

Oh hey, they're using quotes in the title! Maybe it's a larger discussion, rather than just a bunch of lists of games people want for a platform we know nothing about, full of games that are already available on/coming soon to current platforms- D'oh! You got me!

...but to add to the circle-jerking- I mean discussion! I would buy an NX for these games from 3rd-Party publishers:

  • Interesting Game that's Exclusive to the NX
  • Interesting Game that's not exclusive to the NX, but has NX-Exclusive Content that Adds to the Experience
  • Interesting Game that's not Exclusive to the NX, but Utilizes the NX's Unique Features in Interesting Ways
    and of course...
  • Interesting Game that's Exclusive to the NX, and Utilizes the NX's Unique Features in Interesting Ways
^ Definitely can't forget that one.

Oh, and maybe:

  • Sequel to an Existing Franchise that Hasn't Been Seen in a Long Time
    ^I'm still debating that one.

Check out my big NX concept on http://ntdojoe.wordpress.com.
Concept includes Nintendo Portable, Nintendo Ultimate, NintendOS, Miitopia, RePlay, N Cam and more.

Assuming that the NX will have some kind of controller hook that the PS4 and XBONE don't OR that it will be under powered in someway (because of Nintendo's policy of not taking a loss on hardware sales) I think Nintendo should/needs to make deals with 3rd party developers and party fund the development of 3rd part franchises for Nintendo. I don't think its realistic for a 3rd party to make a 2nd version of their to fix with the NX's controller or lower power level, so instead Nintendo should work with the 3rd party developers to create experiences that can only be played on NX, which hopefully will create more a reason for people to buy the console. At this point, why would a consumer by the NX to play a game they can already play on their PS4?

Just look at some of the franchise's I'd target and possibly help fund to bring to NX, and/or keep only NX:

Capcom - Mega Man, Ac Attorney, Breath of Fire, Ghosts and Goblins, Monster Hunter
Square Enix - Super Mario RPG, Chrono Trigger sequel, Secret of Mana sequel, Dragon Quest
EA - Some Star Wars game
Ubisoft - Just Dance, Prince of Persia, Rayman, Red Steel
Konami - Castlevania, Contra
Rockstar - Bully 2

Is it worth pointing out that this post ↑ ...is the seventy first post in the thread?

But anyway...

Call of Cthulhu sequel.

MX vs ATV Excite

Everybody's Golf (if it had stereoscopic 3D and supported balance board and motion controls).

RC Sports Copter Challenge sequel (depending on quality of the final game).

Stunt GP Sequel

Zack & Wiki sequel

Madison Page Chronicles / Continued adventures of Madison Page (Heavy Rain).

Red Seeds Chronicles sequel.

The Alan Wake that everyone thought they'd be getting (i.e. open-world, Twin Peaks style writer turned private detective game)

Mea culpa...previously in this thread I suggested Nintendo get Rainbow Studios to make an MX vs. ATV Excite. I was wrong...

...they need to get Black Rock Studio to Make another Pure for the NX and call it "Excite Quad"...

I love MX vs ATV and it's my ATV series of choice but, I've got to say, I think I enjoy Pure about 100 times more and for Nintendo, if they were going to do something like this, this should be the prototype...

Seriously...you've got to play this thing...!

I disagree with the review in terms of the depth inherent to the game...despite it being immediately accessible it has plenty of depth in the gameplay, it just might have used a little more breadth in terms of the available race events etc. but I think less is definitely more when it comes to Pure...

Honestly, and this is nostalgia really sinking its teeth in, I don't know if I've ever put as much time into a game as I did with Mario 64. I got all the stars (and visited Yoshi!) too many times to count. Sometimes I would just run around the castle aimlessly making up my own narratives (lol). But that was the magic of it. The controls, the exploration, the opportunities to attack objectives in different ways - pure nostalgic bliss lol

So a fully "fleshed-out," immersive 3D Mario game with some kind of hub world and all the usual Nintendo nods and additions they've built over the years (some 3D World powerups, mechanics, etc.) - I would buy an NX just for that.

So yea, I'm basically asking for Mario 64 2.0 haha

Lego City Undercover. As much as I'd like a new game, I'd be more than happy with a slightly expanded version of the original with zero loading times.

I'd be keen on a sequel. A remastered LCU with fixed loading times bundled with LCU2 like the Bayonetta bundle would be nice. Can't see it happening though, unfortunately.

To be fair, I'm sure he meant: "Said no one who was actually serious about their statement and fully willing to pony up the cash when Nintendo announces Super Mario Bouncy Bros, Pokemon Not X, Blue Shells 9: The Retconning, and possibly Super Cool Paper Story, Bros. will be coming out in the same year, as pointed out in the tentative placeholder pictures they shot with a smartphone camera ever!"

and also bear in mind how many of those 71 posts are actually answering the question in the title. Seems about half the posts here are naming Nintendo games.

Yeah...right...sure...lets give the guy trying to troll the thread the benefit of the doubt...to be fair.

Nearly all of the games I've posted to this thread are games that I have on my bookcase in one form or another, if I have the available cash I'll buy remakes and (well made) sequels to these in a heart beat, and no, I don't think the quotes in the title makes it some kind of veiled ironic suggestion that we discuss at length the idea of buying a Nintendo console just for a third party game...

...my games are arranged on my bookshelf by genre, not by system. For me what it plays on is secondary to how it plays. I'll take the original Bomberman Kart for the PS2, Pure, ATV Offroad Fury 4, V's ATV, Bang Bang Racing and or ChoroQ HG 3 and/or 4, or Stunt GP over Mariokart 7, 8, or 64 more or less every time...and if Nintendo put their sequels on the NX I'll buy them...and to be honest I'd own the games before the console, just like I have Wii U games on my shelf but no Wii U.

I'm going to buy one anyway but if someone rebooted Geist for the nx I would be their day one.
