I mean, if I'm honest with myself, I'm gonna get the thing anyway — my gaming diet is primarily Nintendo, indies, classics, and the odd (in both ways) Japanese third-party game. I don't see that output changing on NX.
But I'm very surprised about how little people are talking about Monster Hunter. The series has been a Nintendo staple for seven years now, and given that handheld functionality — the series' bread and butter in its homeland market — is somehow going to factor into the NX platform, I don't see that changing, either. I'm personally hoping for a cross-play-compatible system or a console version; it's hard for me to go back to handheld MH after the the 1080p version of Tri on Wii U, which had excellent controls and really useful second screen functionality.
In any case, that's something that could be huge for NX to launch with, and it'd be a big factor in my book.
I've been playing Luigi's Mansion 2 and the more I play it the more it makes me wish Nintendo would pick up the Dragon's Lair 3D licence and make a 3D Dragon's Lair game with the same level of quality and creativity as Luigi's Mansion.
Probably not likely due to licencing issues but I'd love to see Nintendo's take on a Dragon's Lair 3D. I think it would be absolutely fantastic.
...............
Edit: Just an original IP from Nintendo with the same basic premise would be really cool...swordsman repeatedly gets pie in the face in varying creative, unusual and funny ways.
Resident Evil 2 Remake
New Roller Coaster Tycoon game (hey games like that or RTS game would've been great on the wii u gamepad)
NBA 2K (my 2013 copy is getting dusty. I know its the same game every year, but its nice to get a new 1 every couple years)
I'd love nintendo to strike a deal with a big 3rd party for a few exclusive games like they did with Capcom on the gamecube
@Souldin: Red Steel 1 or 2? I hope 2, that first game was absolute garbage.
Actually, I was referring to the first Red Steel game. It currently stands as my favourite FPS game of all, with the control scheme helping a lot with that, what with me being terrible at most other FPS games.
I have played a bit of Red Steel 2, and do own it, but I didn't actually enjoy it quite as much. I preferred the setting of the first game and it's focus on the shooting over the swordplay. From what little I did play of Red Steel 2, the gun seemed fairly useless and they were often encouraging you to use the sword instead. I did admittedly not play much of it, so I do plan to revisit it someday and give it a second chance.

Yeah, you didnt play much of it.
Their was so much in game talk about the swordplay because it was a lot more complicated than the gunplay, and had a lot more to learn than the instantly digestable point and shoot.
But with four guns, each with their own upgrade path, and unique powerups (Ricochet bulets, armor peircing, armor destroying, explosive rounds etc), and super cool move upgrades for the guns, they remain an integral part of the gameplay throughout the entirety of the game, as point multipliers, damage dealers, finishers, and decoy/weakness finders. The gunplay in red steel 2 craps on the first from orbit. Everything in red steel 2 gameplay wise craps on the first from orbit.
My plan is to buy a PS4 next year for Shenmue 3 and FF7, if these make their way to NX then I'll switch, otherwise no way, I'll get Zelda on Wii U and wait a few years.
Add me to the "Monster Hunter on console" people. Leaving exclusive titles aside, I'd like to see:
-Dark Souls III
-Deus Ex: Mankind Divided
-A new Fallout by Obsidian
-Whatever Platinum is making, as long as it's not a licensed game
I'm not that excited for multiplatform titles in general. Most of the ones I've tried have been pretty sub-par experiences, or have fallen from grace since their first installment.
