Topic: How an MMO might suit the NX

Was thinking about what the NX needs to succeed earlier today and I reckon that an MMO might just be the ticket.

Firstly, let's assume that Nintendo are not as concerned about going after the core/gamer market, since that's already wrapped up by PS4. And are instead looking to bring back some of the mass audience from the days of the original Wii. Also that Nintendo will use mobile games to generate interest in their games and IP with a view to them upgrading to the TV-console experience.

To succeed in that, they need firstly a game that's a hit on mobile in its own right (no easy feat). Then to make the TV experience of that same game, via the NX, freaking awesome in a way that's either complimentary to the mobile game, or a huge improvement on it.

To my mind, the most obvious way to do that is with an MMO. It's persistent and in the cloud, so works seamlessly across devices. Plus it's a social and shareable experience, and Nintendo are all about games that bring people together.

Admittedly, I've made some big assumptions here on the very limited info we have on the NX, but it's fun to speculate.
