Topic: Fire Emblem Warriors

I figured this would be the best place for this topic, since Wii U won't be getting much more games after the ones we alrady know about and NX is the platform a lot of people are waiting for at the moment.

After Hyrule Warriors and the Legends version on 3DS what would Koei Tecmo develop for a Nintendo platform next? Hyrule Warriors 2? Hyrule Warriors games have covered a lot of the source material already so I think they'll go for something different next (even though many of the Warriors-series games have quite a few sequels).

How about...
Fire Emblem Warriors.

Fire Emblem series would have have died if it not have been for the success of Awakening and I have no doubt that Fire Emblem Fates wouldn't sell well in the west either. The series has already had a spinoff title recently (Shin Megami Tensei X Fire Emblem) so why not make a Warriors game too. Sure it's quite different from the main series turn based strategy RPG but even Warriors series has some strategic elements even though they are very light. It could be a good way to introduce new players to the world of Fire Emblem and it's huge character roster.

They could even have perma death mechanic from FE to make real time battles more intense than ever before. For a more traditional Warriors experience you could also turn the casual mode on like in FE Awakening.

Fire Emblem Warriors coming to NX, I´m calling it now.

@Luffymcduck: KT did comment saying they would like to work with Nintendo again on a Warriors game, preferably with a different IP than Zelda, and they referenced Mario as an interesting one for them to do. Though, I agree with you, Fire Emblem is the most logical, and as a huge Fire Emblem fan I would love it. From what I remember though, KT did say they were working on a new Warriors game with a 3rd party, though they said it was a 'major franchise from the west' so that rules out it being a Nintendo game really.

I've said before that FE is one of the few Nintendo franchises besides Zelda that actually makes sense for a Warriors game. It's probably even more of a slam-dunk than Zelda is.

It would be kinda generic I think.

As a good of a matching as it is I'd prefer something more out of nowhere like F-Zero warriors or Pokemon Warriors as both have a huge cast that could be used and offer more intresting settings than a battlefield.

I would definitely buy it ,since I like Fire Emblem's cast and setting but I don't like turn-based battles.

Could work, I think. But I will always wish for a Pokemon Warriors. There could be 18 different nations more or less at war with each other over territory and depending on what of the three nations you choose (Grass, Fire, Water), the playable characters and story are different.

Or Star Wars ... Warriors? I think the material would lend itself perfectly to a warriors game (and battles in space!) but knowing EA, they probably will never give away the license and I doubt it would end up a good product. They certainly would pull a "What's that? You wanna play as Darth Vader? Then buy our Season Pass! Muwhahaha!" move.

You pretty much just summarized the gist of Pokemon Conquest, which uses designs and characters from the Samurai Warriors series.

Anyway, in regards to the OP, there was the Famitsu poll that placed FE at number 3 on most wanted warriors crossovers. Out of all the Nintendo franchises, FE seems like a perfect fit. Heck, there are even thematic similarities in gameplay between the two series. Characters from FE6-10 have elemental affinities for support bonuses, which would transfer over perfectly to an FE Warriors title.

The main issue I have is the inevitability of IS wanting to front load everything Akaneia related, leaving Tellius and Elibe relatively barren and Judgral and Valentia forgotten. If it was guaranteed that the roster would be equalized, I'd be all for it.

As long as it's Fire Emblem Warriors and not Awakening Warriors, I'd play it. Maybe they could even put me in. I am Tellius' greatest tactician and magic wielder, after all.

It definitely makes sense in terms of being a Warriors-type game. But I, for one, would have to do more research into the lore of Fire Emblem to really get anything out of it. I was always aware of it when I was growing up, but I never played any of the games until Awakening.

I agree about this making sense buuuuut it would be like any other warrior game. After seeing dragon quest heros and how it works I would prefer them taking a chance like that. Maybe earthbound warriors.

Didn't even think about F-Zero as a Warriors game since I´ve been so depressed about the lack of a new F-Zero game. Aside from the obvious Falcon Punch special move you could do a lot of fun stuff with that huge character roster.

I think having characters from the ENTIRE series playable would be great. Love Awakening, but also love the series as a whole. It'd be great playing as Leif or Seliph or Sigurd.

I think a Mushroom Kingdom Warriors game would be more interesting, simply because it doesn't seem like it'd fit the brand and I think it'd be very unique. Fire Emblem Warriors would come across as generic to me.

It could work but we all know it would mostly be Awakening and Fates characters and then the whining would commence in full. I would love for them to use the mirage looks from #FE as costumes. I'm enjoying their character designs.

Pikmin Warriors. Think about it, bringing a large army of 100 Pikmin into battle and.. oh wait.. Finish Pikmin 4 already, I'm still waiting...
