Topic: Dragon Quest 11

So, I was really bummed out that DQ10 never came to the US.

DQ is far from my favorite JRPG series, but I love love love the genre and want as many as possible to come over here. The only DQ I've ever played is DQ8 and I found it a little subpar for a few specific reasons, but I'm still pumped to hear about new ones as Square, although they're not what they used to be, hold a special place in my heart as being tied with Nintendo for my favorite video game developers growing up.

So, I was very surprised to come across this video where they casually mention that Square kind f announced DQ11 was an NX exclusive. Is this for real? Does anyone have any more info on this?:

Didn't watch the vid, but no it's not true. SE is considering releasing DQXI (and DQX) on the NX, depending on what the NX actually is. Even if the NX is the next home console, that still doesn't guarantee an NX release for DQXI.

No, not exclusive. They said they are considering releasing it for NX too, but it has already been confirmed for PS4 and 3DS so it's definitely not exclusive.

There are no current plans for the game to leave Japan.

I find it impossible to believe DQ11 wouldn't be localized. They localized DQ before anyone here even cared about the series, even after every spinoff between 7 and 8 were bought by no one in America (except sometimes me), and after not even being sure the 3DS remakes would make money.

Also 8 and 9 were legit successes in America.
