Topic: Another Nintendoland Game for NX?

I think I should add to what I was saying earlier. I think it's a good game and I think some people were a bit unfair on it. I also wouldn't at all mind if we got more games along the same lines. I liked the idea of a party game that was easier to pick up than Mario Kart or Smash but not so much that you feel like it's patronising you. If that makes sense. So of course I want to see another Nintendo Land.

But I don't think it alone was a big enough game to launch a new system with. It wasn't as revolutionary an idea as Wii Sports. It wasn't blowing our minds like Mario 64 did. It was just a nice game to get if you happened to get the system. Infact we're only getting the Wii U defining games now. Super Mario Maker and Splatoon specifically. Now those two games, they're the sort of thing you launch a system with.

it would be welcome... if it had online multiplayer

Ooh the potential of simply running away in online mode, or that luigi's mansion game playing online or with one or two people on the couch and someone else joining online...

It would be so much fun

Looking at the replies in this thread, I think that's the problem. People expected a grand launch game. It wasn't particulairy revolutionairy or anything, but it was a good mini-game collection. I wouldn't mind if they launched their next console with a sequel to Nintendo Land, as long as they're able to support the system with other games as well. Nintendo Land wasn't to blame for the bad first party launch line-up on the Wii U.

No, Nintendo Land is one of the things that ruined the Wii U's chance of success. That said, Nintendo will probably make a Skylanders/Infinity/Dimensions style game for amiibo as a launch title given amiibo's insane popularity.

How does a single game ruin a console's success? I'd put the blame on the lack of launch titles, not on Nintendo Land.

I'd put the blame on both, Nintendo spent way too much time focusing on Nintendo Land at E3 2012 and it made that conference pretty much a joke.

They spent a lot of time on Nintendo Land because that was their big title. I don't think what happens on E3 really matters to the public much at all. The problem wasn't Nintendo Land or E3 2012. The problem was that at launch and for the first six months or so Nintendo Land was the only reason to get a Wii U.

Well, that's again due to the lack of other launch titles. If Nintendo Land didn't exist, the Wii U's launch would've been even worse.

Nintendoland should have been a part of the OS for every Wii U console; not just an extra 'game' for Premium owners. If the software was well maintained and had regular updates, such as new mini-games and lobbies, then it could have been big news.

Nintendo Land had nothing to do with the Wii U's lack of huge financial sucess, if anything that has more to do with what Octane said as well as overall terrible marketing.
