Topic: Pokemon Go

I got the email earlier today and downloaded it. I'm not sure how much I can say due to confidentiality but it was pretty neat and I had fun driving around looking for PokeSpots and running into Pokemon. I live in a smallish town but I was pleasantly surprised to find a good number of Gyms and PokeSpots in the area.

@FriedSquid Do you have ingress? It would be fun to see if those spots and gyms line up with portals from ingress.

My wife has caught 6 pokemon today. She is really enjoying the game. I wish I got into the beta. There are plenty of problems currently, everytime she finishes a pokemon encouter the app ceashes, but saces her data. Also the app keeps losing the signal to the servers and it has to sync up again

So far I'm enjoying myself with this game. I haven't really engaged in any battles yet, but the collecting mechanic is quite fun. I noticed a clear distinction in the types of Pokémon I met by just going downtown on my bike. A few miles makes a clear difference. In city centers, I get Magnemites, Spearows and Zubats, whereas bodies of water get me Magikarp and Krabby. Around my house I see a lot of Pidgeys. I've already managed to collect enough of them to evolve one of 'em into Pidgeotto.

NA iOS is up! For all those interested, go get 'em!

Got it on my Android and perfect time. I am currently a few states away from home, on Saturday I will be traveling a lot which will give me plenty of opportunities to catch pokemon lol

Am I the only one that gets unable to authenticate ,please try again later when I use my pokemon club account ? I've been playing all day and can'ts seem to sign in at the moment ......please help

You're not alone, happening to me too since after 10am. My best bet, servers are overloaded, especially if you use the "Pokemon Trainer Club". Usually happens with new Pokemon game that syncs online, at least that's from my past experience with X/Y and Pokebank at launch.

Hopefully they fix that problem soon, there is soon many PokeStops between my work commute and I'm off tomorrow.

@Megapokepaul I keep getting this problem as well. It seems to sign me in sometimes and other times I have to constantly try again and again. I was able to use it for a few hours and actually got quite far so I don't want to reset.

...How does the game work when you're in a vehicle?

Well the GPS tracker cant tell the difference and just treats it like you're walking. But your character moves faster which (if you're in a passenger seat hopefully!) makes it harder to hit passing Pokemon and PokeSpots. Unless you're able to stop, of course

Alright, just wondering, since my options are somewhat limited in a boring city like mine. lol

How's everyone enjoying this game that I can't get because my piece of crap phone doesn't have enough storage space for it!?

I am also having this issue. I have been trying all day but still can't play. Thinking of starting over with a Google Account

@Megumi_Sagano Actually to correct my last post, I'm not sure how true it is but I read on Reddit that there is actually a max speed that the app will count. Supposedly only driving under 20 kmph will count as walking, whereas using something faster like a train for example will not.

You gotta get Phone credit, because you can't rely on sitting in a short vicinity around a rounter and hoping everything comes to you.

Guess I'll give this a try while walking in/around my house...

EDIT: Ok so, got it running again...kinda figured the map was zoomed out. Turns out it actually shows my entire neighborhood...complex...thing. Also figured out where the Pokes actually are. Anyways can't go catching right now, gotta watch over Sanya. TwT
