I REALLY don't wanna buy more diamonds, lol...wished there was a faster way of nabbing them. xD
Anyways should I just go for everything involving coins?

Keep it PG-13-ish.
I would recommend saving up for Rowlett. Coins become the most valuable commodity after a certain point, as they're your best way to speed up JP gains. Once you get your training/food to past level 50, the coin cost increases dramatically. I'm working on getting those to level 75, and going from 50 to 75 costs between 200-500k in coins for each food or training.
And yes, Meowth is worth the upgrade for the above reasons, but if you have Rowlett focus on that first.

@Meowpheel Slowpoke isn't all that useful to me. It only restores one skill, not all, so it's basically just an extra Charizard use. That can definitely be useful, especially since Charizard has the potential to give Skill Restores (which actually restore all of your support Poke's skills) or a mountain/ton of coins, but I think Rowlett is generally more useful. Coins quickly become the premium object once you get into the high 50s and 60s in trainer rank.

Popplio was the first friendship Pokemon I got. It's useful for getting diamonds from the sunken treasure. I grabbed Charizard second, since I was curious about what items it gives, but it doesn't seem to be that useful.
Now I'm saving up for the friendship Pokemon that give lots of JP, so Litten then Greninja.
I love Charizard (the 'mon) so that's why I got him. He gives good coin and LP restores and training sodas so I don't think he's 'useless.' You won't need to buy those items when you can get them for free, and using them counts towards the 'using items' achievement.
I got Gengar because I love the 'mon too. Get a ton of food in the tank and then use Gengar's skill to get a big boost to JP.
@Joeynator3000 Rowlett has 4 upgrades, but after its first or second upgrade it's giving out more than Meowth. I'm pretty sure it only takes one upgrade to beat that output, but don't quote me on that.
@crimsontadpoles I would recommend prioritizing coins over JP. The boost I get from my maxed Greninja is only worth about 2 full ponds of food. Having coins makes getting JP easier, and it's the best way to get support candies.
Agree on Charizard not being useless. The recharge on it is a bit ridiculous, but there have been several instances where I've received Skill Restores or large coin amounts that I couldn't get otherwise without spending money.
Popplio is my next Pokemon I'll get as Sunken treasures are generally pretty useful, and it has a fair recharge time. I'll still need to get Snorlax for that event (and to have something to spend support candies on once I finish Rowlett), but it's hard to think that he'd be better than Popplio when it comes to gaining more coins.
