3 already? I've only seen one, and I'm in the 9th generation. I've seen 3 Standards, 2 Calicos (one orange/white and one orange/white/black), 1 Orange Dapples and 1 Gold. My gold one, Muncie, won the Quick League.
My only gold one so far was in my 18-20th generation, and I'm working on 25 right now. My friend has had 3, with 2 of them being back to back. So far I've only had 6 patterns overall though, which is kinda frustrating.

Coins and diamonds are really easy to come by in this game. Once you start getting into higher generations, you get a good amt of coins after every battle, and in your pond, and with Meowth. Always go for the sparkle in the All That Glitters event. If successful you get 7 diamonds. If not, then you just lose some JP. Magikarp never perish in that event so you have nothing to lose. At one point I kept getting diamonds over and over so I was rolling it in. With just playing normally, I've managed to buy Charizard which costs 600 diamonds, and I already have 330 more which I am saving for Gengar. Food and training items are all level 18. Coins and diamonds are given too generously IMO.
My phone has very little storage so I dunno if I have enough space left to update further.
BTW, I wanted to name my new pink Magikarp Muffin, but it said the word has prohibited language. It is utterly terrible that we can't use common, every day words now :/
