@BruceCM Great, but man I platinumed ToCS II no problem, but can't seem to platinum I or III no matter how hard I try even following a guide. It feels like a few of the trophies in the PlayStation versions are buggy as heck and don't always activate when they should...
Hmm, don't really remember much about trophies in Vita versions of I&II, @TowaHerschel7 .... While Steam doesn't have platinums for games I got most of the achievements in III but I'm not too concerned about missing a few, personally
So the third game releases on Switch on Tuesday. I'm planning to pick up the physical version. The only thing that bothers me is story context, but it sounds like the included summary of the first two games will help a lot. I won't get a Vita just to play those.
Same, I've only just become aware of them. Picked up Ys VIII recently and I'm glad I did. It reminds me a lot of Skies of Arcadia in terms of the deserted island and crew members/castaways. I do like it when an RPG grounds itself in something you could relate to. I think a lot of RPGs make the mistake of going too out there and weird.
@Wargoose Funnily enough I've been eying Ys VIII again recently since physical copies are starting to become less common (at least in my area of the US). I don't dislike many of the "out there" RPG plots by any means - I love imaginative creativity when it's done right - but relatability is a definite plus.
Your impressions are making me excited to try the game again. ^_^
