Switch hardware sales for week 1 of 2019 increase by roughly 25,000 for a total just shy of 200,000 units. It's worth noting this also pushes the Switch to over 7 million units sold in Japan and roughly 660,000 units behind total PS4 sales (including all versions). The Switch will most likely overtake the PS4 LTD by mid 2019, possibly earlier.
Again, unsurprisingly on the software front, Smash Bros Ultimate remains at the top of the charts, selling 258,974 units and pushing total units sold to 2.6 million. It's now roughly 300,00 units behind Splatoon 2's life to date sales.
Mario Party is closing in on 1 million units sold, Pokemon Let's Go is just about to hit 1.4 million units, and lastly, Dragon Quest Builders 2 on the Switch, roughly two weeks after launch, has managed to outsell the PS4 version by a whopping 308 units, haha

M+L BIS looks like it flopped hard (Less than 20, 000 units sold so far in Japan in 2 weeks, worse than the previous lowest launch sales for a M+L) And I don’t think it’ll do that much better in the West (Maybe it can eventually sell 200,000 units worldwide?).I really hope Alphadream is working on a new M+L game for the Switch instead of starting to create a remake of Partnesrr in Time for the 3DS.
@Mrtoad It's a shame, given the install base of the 3DS sitting at around 23 million, only 9000 people picked it at launch. But the 3DS's popularity is waning and 2019 might be the final year for any releases. It will be 8 years old come Feb 2019.
