Topic: Keiji Inafune Leaves Capcom...

Dunno if someone posted this yet (else, it would be on top somewhere I have looked), but the creator of Megaman has LEFT Capcom, leaving some director (pardon, I don't know his EXACT name) of RE5 in charge of his place.

Really sad... He was SO excited about Megaman Legends 3. Wonder how that's going to go now. And it's so unexpected.

Wish you luck, Inafune. I'm sure you'll come up with something amazing somewhere, sometime (not that he ever didn't...)

I hope this doesn't spell certain doom for the Mega man series. If I suddenly wake up one morning and find out they aren't making Mega man games anymore I may have to go lay down and die somewhere. Hopefully there's someone else who can carry on his work and retain a decent level of quality.

Nah, the Megaman series doesn't rely on Inafune anymore. He's been busy with Dead Rising IIRC. I don't think it will have too much of an effect on Capcom, actually.

Some of the things he's said recently were pretty weird and it seemed like he wasn't very enthusiastic about his work anymore. I guess it was time for him to leave. I wonder what he'll do next.

Definitely a shock to me, as I greatly worry about the future of the Mega Man franchise now. Then again, Inti Creates did a fantastic job with MM9 and MM10, so I'm not exactly sure how much Inafune was involved with those games beyond the RM designs.

I wish him well though, hopefully he can find something that makes him happy to work again without being so negative about his fellow Japanese game developers.

I'm wondering about Megaman Legends 3 Project. Hope this doesn't mean a cancellation, especially since HE wanted it back and had to convince Capcom, apparently..

MML3 is not being cancelled. I read he wasn't heavily involved with that either. The Megaman series has been doing fine without him while he's been working on other projects.
