I would regard the following as a rumor, but when I believe a friend of mine who works at Square Enix Europe, the following is happening with "Final Fantasy XV". And it's huge: It's now nearly 6 years in the making by the Product Development Division 1 in Tokyo (begun production right after FFXII in the summer of 2006) and was originally planned exclusively for the Playstation 3. As of recently he heard it's now being made for the Wii U with a complete graphical overhaul and features revolutionary game mode choices. This includes single player (story mode), online multiplayer (multi-story mode) and also a special designed co-op campaign (co-story mode) for up to 4 players locally. It will feature the EDB "Extended Dimension Battle" based on a refined version of the ADB "Active Dimension Battle" from FFXII. Battles can even be paused via a special ability and let's players access quicktime events for special spells or item creation on the fly. There will also be story progressing FMVs during online multiplayer. The Nintendo Network will provide an exclusive online store where special items will become available over time. Unfortunately no infos at all over story or design. I hope it's true. Everything sounded really intriguing to me...
But does your uncle work for Nintendo? That would make it more credible.

There can only be one, like in that foreign movie where there could only be one, and in the end there is only one dude left, because that was the point.
No, but my friend heard it at a recently held meeting at the Nintendo headquarters in Germany (Großostheim). He has nothing to do with game production but with financial things. I know him a little. It didn't sound made up...
They haven't even announced that they're working on a FFXV yet. What's the point of this rumor? Or any rumor really, just stop speculating and wait for official announcements.
The battle system sounds a whole lot better than FFXIII's, that's for sure
You're trollin' right? The battle system was one of the best things about FFXIII.
i dont think he is, while i dont have anything against the gamepplay i myself would pick the classic turn based system over the new one any time of the day

And that is why it sucked!
Question Mark? I thought FFXIII's battle system was one of the best battle systems in any RPG ever. Instead of focusing on the little details of the battle, it forced you to look at the big picture and to go with the overall tide of battle. It ended up having a system that was fast and yet had an immense amount of strategy involved. Toward the end of the game I was switching Paragdims every few seconds to switch between the offensive and defensive while keeping up with the stagger bar. If you hated the battle system that much, you probably either hated the game before you played it or just didn't play it period. P.S. The chances of it XV being an exclusive on any console is pretty much zero. Unless if Nintendo or Sony ensure that Square Enix doesn't loose money to ensure exclusitivity, then it will be multiplatform. Square Enix is not in the current position to be making unecessary risks.

Or simply played it and had a different opinion than you...?

Pik, you hardly played it long enough to get a good feel for the battle system. It opens up all throughout the game. That's like playing Monster Hunter for 5 hours and trying to form a good opinion on it, you just can't.
Ergo your opinion is crap and pretty much against everyone else's so stfu :3

Sorry, I believe you are confusing me with haters. I never cared for the game before I played it, but I tried it anyway and played for seven hours and didn't like it in the end. The battle system was not that great (auto battle ftw?) and the story was too generic imo.

My great Aunt's best friend's Mom's boyfriend's son's dog's counselor's uncle works at Atari and he said they're going to make a new console with true cutting edge 64 bit technology or something.
Sounds legit to me.

The employees of Square Enix Europe would only hear about this right before it was announced to the rest of the world.
I know what you're all thinking. But I found the things he told too interesing not to share them. So hopefully he will be right, or else... And don't be so sure about FFXV being exclusive for Wii U, look at Dragon Quest IX & X... Nobody believed they would go exclusive for Nintendo, let alone for the NDS...
