This woman was terminated because a bunch of sad men didn't like her work.
She is the victim of a bullying campaign, and Nintendo would much rather let her go then stand up to these moronic idiots.

Well there ya go, sad pathetic GGers get mad at sad and pathetic things in a Fire Emblem game and take it out on the best-fitting to the 'controversy' woman they could find. Very sad that they're winning in these situations.
But of course these Third Party Individuals are just making gaming and ethics in gaming better and any perceived hatred they have towards women are purely coincidental.
@Aviator No...she was fired because she has been shown to be supportive of pedophilia. She's not good for the company's image.
Have you read her essay?

Nintendo Life have disabled comments on their article on this matter...
I believe that is unprecedented, at least in my year here. Probably for the best as the articles announcing the 'censorship' in Fire Emblem Fates and Xenoblade Chronicles X were bad enough, now that there is an obvious target it would've been messy.
I'm kinda glad the comments were disabled in the article. As I read through the article all I could think of was "Oh no, here comes a comment storm."
I thought she was terminated because of her safety...
God first.

To everyone defending her, or saying it was because of people being mad over Fire Emblem's localization,
1. She wasn't even a part of the localization team. She's a PR spokesperson.
2. She has advocated pedophilia.
This is some pretty damning stuff, and Nintendo would have to be insane to keep her on public relations, given that she's really bad for their image. @TingLz I'm guessing that it's because of the pedophilia, since the Wayne Foundation contacted Nintendo over the matter.
I don't really know what this situation is, but this is why I try to keep my online persona and my personal identity separate. I would hate to say something and have it be taken a certain way that causes me to lose a job or have a hard time finding a job in the future.
People keep saying the Xbox One doesn't have Backwards Compatibility.
I don't think they know what Backwards Compatibility means...

I admit, I really don't know much about this Alison Rapp, but I'll be neutral and say we don't know why she was terminated. Could be one reason, or lots of them.
What makes me comment, though, is Thomas's decision to block comments for the article. As sad as it is, I agree with him. Topics on localization and stuff like that have gotten out of control, not only here on NLife but over all the internet. Nowadays, its almost like "damned if you do, damned if you don´t". It's a shame that we're unable to keep a certain level of civility and respect towards different opinions on that topic.
It would have been quite messy. I thought it was a good decision. This thread will be fine until things turn ugly, but at least I can watch it more closely than the comments.
