Looking back at this, I've seen Activision posted better than expected profits for both it's 1st and 2nd quarters. If they don't allocate that profit they'll end up paying tax on it so maybe the purchase of King was partially to solve that issue. Even if they lose money on it they can make it a tax write off.

There's easier ways of doing that like pouring the money into research & development.
It's pretty sad that companies are actually pursuing micro transactions, now. You might as well go to a casino if you want to pay to win.
There's like at least 10 major things I could probably think of that are better than Candy Crush, that they could buy. They already rip off people with yearly CoD DLC as it, but of course people keep paying for it, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
