I was going to start playing Wii Fit again after a long time, and when I took out the balance board to try and play it,no matter what I did, it wouldn't turn on. I changed all of the batteries, I tried to sync it up with the Wii, but no matter what I did, I wouldn't be able to get it to work at all. All I see is when I hit the switch it just flashes then stops. Can anyone help me with this?

I suspect it's just not re-syncing properly. I know I had trouble getting mine to sync initally, but just to check the painfully obvious are you trying to turn on the board after starting the game (beyond the safety screens), because the board won't turn on unless software that uses it is actually running.
I turned on my Wii to play some Tetris Party with the balance borad to try it out, and I don't know whether Im doing it wrong or what, but I tried to sync it with the red button on the bottom and with the Wii, because thats the only way I can do it, but even then it doesnt work, then I have to go back and sync my wiimotes again. I'll try it out with Wii Fit first off, since thats what it mainly uses, and see how it goes

Hmmm, if your remotes are also going out of sync it might be an issue with your Wii? If you're still not having any luck try Nintendo's official support page:
There's a section on Wii Fit/Balance Board troubleshooting and you should be able to raise a support ticket via email rather than making an expensive phone call.
