So today after clicking to go to the Wii Menu after a game of Wii Fit Plus I got a message on my Wii that said that my save data is corrupted and to look in the operations manuel. The operations manuel said to look on nintendo.com. Nintendo.com told me I needed to send it in for a repair. Since I didn't (and don't) want to send my Wii in for repair, I decided to see what would happen if I shut it off and turned it back on, and miraculously, it seems to now be working fine with all my save data intact. I'm afraid, though, that this may just be a temporary thing, or, worse, it'll break the Wii even more. I'm giving it time to rest for now and not playing it for a while, but does anyone know if there's something I should do or have anymore information that could help me?

That happened a year ago when I was going on the Mario Kart Channel. I restarted my Wii, and no data was corrupted. One year later, it still works like it did back then with all its data in safe condition. If no problems arise like me, then don't worry.
I'm back (for the moment)!

Thanks for letting me know PunnyGuy. That makes me feel better about it. Like I said, once I turned it back on it was working fine with all my save data still on there, so hopefully it will stay that way.

You're welcome! You shouldn't worry about it. The only time you'll have your Wii corrupted is if you play Metroid Prime 3.

Yeah what Punnyguy said. It's just a false alarm. It's happened to me before too. First time it happened I just about crapped myself. Then I restarted my Wii and everything was fine. No lost data.

If it's chronic, then you'll have a problem, so to echo others, don't panic.

it coul dhave just had a onre time error loading the data, it's probably fine and I wouldn't worrybut just in case, if you have a sd card, move a copy to there so if one breaks the other works.

Same, I've had this problem many times, and now I don't get it at all.

I had a message years ago saying system files are corrupted. Once the pain from my heart attack subsided, I rebooted the Wii and it's been fine for years.

I wasn't as fortunate as you guys I had to reformate my Wii years ago but have not had a problem since. Didn't lose any data that was painful to lose.

I'm finding this game way too distracting. I would much rather be playing it right now rather than working!
