Topic: Why am I getting NAT Type D over ethernet?

I just wanna play Splatoon online. BUT I have NAT Type D. I switched over to ethernet and I'm still getting that problem. At my current place, I have Time Warner Cable. Since I live in an apartment, my place seems to be wired so that I can just plug something into the wall over ethernet with no modem in-between (that's how my router is set up).

However, when I do the same thing on my Switch, I still get NAT Type D. Why is that? What could be blocking those precious ports? I'm honestly stumped at this point.

EDIT 1: One thing I've already tried is manually setting my IP and DNS settings. No dice.

why is it important? Do you experience any kind of lack? Otherwise I wouldn't bother. During Wii U era I don't think that you could see which NAT type you had and it didn't bother anyone. I have A while using the Ethernet cable and F when playing wireless which I do most of the time and everything runs perfectly.

Usually it's a type of firewall issue and as you said something is blocking your ports one option though simple could be try turning off your router for 30 seconds and then turning it back while you're switch is on, other than that it can be tricky because using port fowarding on P2P can leave you open to hacks. If the reset doesn't work try googling NAT issues with whatever router your using.
