Topic: Warrior Orochi 3 2 player mode wii u

I am trying to get a 2nd player to play on this game. It tells you to press + button on remote to activate 2nd player in Story Mode. This doesn't appear to be doing anything even though the 2 player + is flashing. Please can anyone help.
