I just had four e-mails from forum threads I'm watching. Doesn't seem so odd, right? Thing is, none of them had a new post! Anybody know a somewhat likely reason this might happen? It seems unlikely to me that all four of them had new posts that needed to be deleted all in the course of such a short period of time...
My Backloggery Updated sporadically. Got my important online ID's on there, anyway. :P
Yeah I left the important part out of my post Maybe after realizing they posted them on accident they deleted the extra posts. But maybe it's something else.
Actually, if they're old threads, that is likely. Some users have been posting in very old threads for absolutely no reason lately, and their posts are getting deleted, I think.
I think those four were pretty old, but why would the posts be getting deleted? Recently, a number of old threads have been successfully resurrected, and I didn't think it was a problem. Now people suddenly aren't allowed to do that?
Actually, come to think of it, ONE of those threads had an actual new post three days ago. This whole thing STILL doesn't make any sense! Any Mods wanna come explain this, please?

I'll be honest - I'm not sure what's going on. We have had some old threads resurrected with rather pointless comments ("I dunno," "haven't played it" etc.) and those posts could well have been deleted, causing the issue with the email.
We're also getting quite a few people emailing us to say they haven't received their account activation emails, so perhaps it's a wider problem with the email handler? ANT! What's going on?
Yeah, this was probably from the episode the other night when a certain member here tried to pull a Lazarus on every thread he could find - and then I deleted all his pointless posts.
And all Vendetta had to do was explain hey we do not want old threads being reopened. Instead he was snide, rude and went skitzo for no reason. Ban me I do not care. If I would of known it would of caused a problem I would not have gone through the old threads. And there Stuffgamer1 you have your answer. In all fairness though I had never posted on forums prior to this site so as Vendetta called it my Forum Etiquette was lacking in what this site allows. @Vendetta Please delete my account so I will not get any emails.
@Vendetta boredom is what caused me to go through old threads. False accusations of trying to get my name on the most recent if a blatant lie. That is a petty accusation based on your belief. Mine is I was bored went through some threads and posted comments. I could care less if I was in the most recent thread thing as I could care less about people seeing my name. I am an adult and it has nothing to do with getting my wrist slapped it was the fact instead of being decent you was snide. I am not one of these high school kids on the site. I am not going to back down to no one when you could have conveyed your message a little less hostile.
@Prosody I sent my deletion request in. But since I can obviously still log in on this site can you do anything about it ? Not sure since you have the god shield of you administer or are you a mod ?
Oh...that explains it. Glad to finally hear from the ones responsible. I don't think there's anything wrong with resurrecting old threads, provided it's to continue the activity of the thread in a useful manner. I can't say whether or not WaLuigi1982 did that, as the posts were all deleted. Some of those threads, I would have LIKED to be resurrected. Oh, well...Sigh.
EDIT: Okay, reading his post in the thread Vendetta linked in his edit of theblackdragon's post below, I agree that WaLuigi went overboard. Now, I'm not going to hold that against the guy...I'd be happy if he sticks around. First forum ever, I believe he said? You gotta cut him some slack, then, because he really wasn't aware of this "common forum etiquette" deal. I think we've all been very understanding of the guy, mods included.
If you would like to not receive e-mails from Nintendo Life, there is a radio button under 'My Profile' (in the box at the top of the site window, the one that has your username/icon in it) where you can choose to receive or not to receive e-mails from Nintendo Life.
If you have a problem with how you were treated the other night, there is a contact form here for you (also located at the top of the screen, under 'contact'). Feel free to make your account deletion/ban request with that form, if that's what you really want; us mods can't do anything like that. Only an admin can ban/delete/whatev' someone. :3
@Stuffo: now that we've all kinda deduced what happened, I think it's time to lock this one. Problem solved? :3
Thanks, Dragon. Just adding my response here also: WaLuigi, c'mon. If getting your wrist slapped prevented you from accepting my welcoming you to continue participating in the forums, then that's on you. Resurrect any thread you want, so long as you're adding something meaningful to those older threads in particular (pointless comments typically go overlooked in current threads). Prosody addressed this in his closing remarks. -Vendetta
Just to add my two cents to this topic, everyone is welcome to post in any topic they want as long as it contributes something worthwhile and meaningful. Don't let a small setback put you off - grab the forum by the horns and really show them who's boss. Prosody
