So this is a pretty weird thing that happened. I was playing on stage 14. I was going down to the far left of the stage and then the game frose and a weird colored line suddenly appeared in the center of the screen. Then the game closed and a text appeared saying the system had to restart. This happened 2 more times, although without the weird colored line. I tried another stage and tested playing Pushmo just to se if there was something wrong with my 3DS or just the game. Nothing happened there. It was on that stage, on that point.

Now i did try plyaing one more time before finish writing this and nothing happened. But still, does anyone know what happened? Was it the game or my 3DS? Was it somekind of glitch (they coming with a patch, after al). Thanks for help.

I'd say a software bug with the game. Sounds pretty rare and if others haven't found and reported it, it's likely to be present in the updated version whenever that arrives.

Never happened to me, and this is actually the first case of it I've heard of. Hope WayForward is aware of it though, and fixes it with their new patch.

Never happened to me when i completed the game either.

  • If it happens again it might be worth looking for an update in the eShop.
And i'm not talking about the well communicated updates for the NES Ambassador games, i could download lots of updates for my other eShop titles early this year. I only found out by coincidence and don't exactly know what they update. But it's been rumoured they might solve rare problems with SD card usage. Or maybe they do nothing at all but a download can't hurt.
  • If that doesn't help formatting your SD card might work. After copying all the files to your computer and formatting you can put them back on it.
  • Deleting and redownloading the title might also be an option. Though i don't know if your progress is kept in this case.

Finally if none of this works i'd contact WayForward or Nintendo.
Hope this helps or even better if it was just a strange hiccup and never happens again.

PS: Might Switch Force sounds like a nice title for an indie game.

Ops, bether fix that title. xD

Anyway, thanks for the help. I'll try and check if this works. If not, i'll probably contact WayForward and ask for help.

Well, what do you know... Been blasting through the game lately and I also had the crash on that very same level a couple of times. For me when travelling across the top of the level, not the left hand edge.

Seemed to happen when landing from a jump or dropping down from a small ledge.

I've sent a bug report in to Way Forward. It'll be interesting to see what they say.

Update:
I tried to re-create the crash for the purposes of giving a better description to Way Forward, but was unsuccessful. I sent them the best description I could and got this response:
Thanks for the detailed description about the bug you encountered. We encountered an issue such as this while testing the new update of the game and believe it has been fixed. If you still encounter the bug after the update please let us know, and we hope you enjoy the new levels included in the update.

I've asked if they have any idea when the update might reach Europe...
