I just bought a Switch Pro Controller... and I’m in love with it. The only thing I’ve noticed that’s concerning is that the B button on the controller is a little bit more mushy than the other three. The others feel a little more tactile and clicky— while this button feels a little more softer when pressed. It still registers with no problem... but my concern is that after using this button for 80+ hours on a game like Zelda (where, let’s face it, you do a lot of running away) might wear out the button.
Has anyone else had this issue? Are my worries valid? Thoughts?
I haven't noticed it on mine. I did have an issue with the right stick on mine binding up and occasionally sticking in place but I just took the controller apart and reassembled it and it was fixed.
@lionheart115 While I have three Pro Controllers, all three have been used for well over a hundred hours (mostly thanks to Splatoon, where B is the jump button and therefore in frequent use). I must admit I‘ve never noticed something this on any of them and trying it out on my XC2 Pro Controller, I still don‘t. All three work as great as on their first day.

At this point, I don’t know if this is borderline OCD. LOL
I played again last night— and the button registered every time without fail. After pressing it several times, I do notice it clicks... it’s just a softer click (you really hear it after it’s de-pressed).
I also wonder if it’s also button placement. I notice that Y and B are not as noticeable clicks than X and A— as those two buttons are on the edge of where the controller curves. (See? OCD.)
I’ve heard that some people have also reported mushy buttons... so I don’t know if these concerns are really valid.
You could try reassembling it. I had a "similar" issue on my 3DS where my R trigger would get stuck sometimes after getting pressed. I eventually got tired of it and I took of the back plate and made sure it was cleared out. It hasn't gotten stuck since.
Yeah, I think I’ll play this one by ear. As long as the buttons work, I’ll keep it. Don’t want to tempt the fates and end up swapping it out for one that might have a worse issue =/
Well... it seems like I’ve run into another issue. It appears that the left thumb stick is making this mechanical sound when it’s being moved... as if there is a spring or part in there that is making contact with something else. The right thumb stick works fine, however it’s not being as used as the left one. Once again, everything works... and I’ve probably clocked about 25 hours on this controller altogether. Wear and tear?
Just order one on Amazon, switch out parts you don't like, like the rubber parts for the buttons or the whole board the thumb sticks are attached to, and then return the new one back to Amazon...
