Topic: Stupid Best Buy Ad

pixelman	1. Posted: Sat 20th Feb 2010 23:49 GMT Pretty much every time I go to a new page this Best Buy ad pops up, and if my mouse so much as touches it it enlarges and I have to click a tiny little link to close it. Annoyance!

pixelman	6. Posted: Mon 22nd Feb 2010 15:31 GMT Oh yes, I have AdBlock installed, but if I enable it on NintendoLife they're not getting any ad revenue from me. In the past we've reported annoying ads and they've taken care of it.

HolyMackerel	7. Posted: Mon 22nd Feb 2010 15:32 GMT Ah right. Well they will only get revenue from clicks, so just having them display doesn't do anything. At least that's how most internet ad services work. If you want to support NL, you'll have to click them.

pixelman	8. Posted: Mon 22nd Feb 2010 15:37 GMT How many people in the world click on ads? Very few. There are different advertising models, and I'm sure that NL uses one of the page view options. I remember one of the admins asking us to disable AdBlock for this site.

I don't think there are ads on the forum pages. You should see ads if you go to the main page, though. I really like when the close button is in the same location as the small ad, so that when you click close your positioned over the ad again, causing it to enlarge once again when you move the mouse.

I don't have one displaying right this instant, but I figured that was because some of them don't work on the PS3 browser. EDIT: I still think that's why for me.
