Okay everyone I need your help so heres a thing I've got a PS3 for Christmas. But I can't decide which rpgs on the Playstation store to get? Reason there is so many to choose from and I have $20.00 to spend. So I need your help any suggestions?
Congrats on getting a PS3! There's a whole bunch of games to choose from. It all depends on your taste.
Do you like JRPGs? There's a ton to choose from. In general, I recommend getting Persona 3 FES, as the game's long enough and pretty awesome. The story is certainly the main eye-catcher in my experience, and I recommend it to anyone in general. If you'd like an older, yet kinda difficult game from the PS one, Persona 2: Eternal Punishment is a good choice. It's very long and more difficult than other newer games in my experience, but I still love it. Do you like Square Enix? If you haven't played some Final Fantasy games, it'd definitely do good to check some out (Final Fantasy VIII is there! ).
Want a fairly-recent RPG? Child of Light is certainly the way to go. Both the art and music are beautiful, and the timeline battle system is a pretty cool one. It's definitely one of my favorites of the year.
If you want to make the most of your money, get two of 'em. The Persona games (2, 3, and 4) are priced at $10 each, and so are some of the older Final Fantasy games (V-VIII, if I recall correctly). If you're unsure, it wouldn't hurt to get a preview of some of the games.
For $20, just pick up a couple of PS1 classics on the PSN. FFIX and Chrono Cross are $10 each I think, maybe even dropped by now.
If you have those and are looking for actual PS3 retail games, your choices may be fairly slim. Ni no Kuni maybe? I usually see that selling for pretty cheap. Great game if you're into Studio Ghibli and some action-based monster training stuff.
