I had the beattitudes in my signature saying literally just that ''the beattitudes'' & the book & number from the bible next to it in my signature. I just got an email saying it could possibly offend other's & was against the rules for being religious content. Why was this not brought to my attention several years ago then if this is the case. I've had that in my signature for several years so I don't understand why it is suddenly an issue now as oppose to then. I am a christian & I do believe in the bible. I'm not changing my religion or religious beliefs to be on this website.
Those who know me on this website know that I am a christian & the christian faith is what I believe in. I don't go around preaching the bible on this website. I simply had it in my signature. I could see if I was posting bible verses left & right on nintendolife but to have 1 bible verse removed from my signature. I truly don't see/understand the issue at hand.
It must be... Just got an email saying one of the moderators had to remove it because it ''might'' offend.
I fully understand about not posting religious stuff on nintendolife that is why I had the bible verse as in book & number in my signature.
The email I got was sent by Tommy Wiseau
I'm not arguing about it. I'm trying to figure out why its an issue now as oppose to several years about. I've had that in my signature since at least 2012 when I joined nintendolife originally...

Happy Gaming! (-_-)
You should be able to have such a text in you signature, and refusing you to have it might even be against internet laws, but you shouldn't openly post e-mail addresses just like that.

I'm pretty sure something as simple as saying you're a "straight male" might offend somebody nowadays.
If there's constant complaints from users everywhere, I wouldn't mind Religious/Anti-religious signatures getting removed across the board. However, a deletion caused by one minor "suggestion" is unacceptable.
Well, in the case of direct anti-religion content (and any other instances of direct hate to anything else) in signatures, I'm pretty sure those are against the rules. Since the user probably put it there to spark arguments.
Just out of curiousity, which specific verse was it? You can just give the author and numbers, since it's, you know, the Bible.
EDIT: Wait, now I remember, you're right, it was just the verse number + author. I looked it up one time. I still don't remember what it was, though. Regardless, I don't see why it would be a problem, since you'd have to go out of your way to make it a problem. It'd be like reprimanding Shadowfox52 because he frequently references hardcore H-Games, even though most people wouldn't know what stuff like Uchuu Kaizukou Sara or Taimainin Asagi are without looking them up (don't look them up, btw).
Honestly, this is ridiculous. I don't know what rules the internet has on this sort of thing, but in America we have something called freedom of religion. Having a Bible verse in your signature is completely reasonable. People these days are offended by everything, but what people need to learn is that being offended is a choice. Instead of trying to get rid of everything you don't agree with, learn to deal with it.

I generally allow users to quote religious texts, provided that the quotes are not offensive towards others (i.e. used to attack others, etc.). I generally enforce the rule for religious arguments and flaming users with quotes.

No it's not, being offended by something isn't a conscious decision as it's an emotion reaction. You can think about how you perceive whatever it is and possibly change your opinion of how it was intended (I was gonna include an example but decided not to incase it causes arguments) but I think what you're talking about is outrage where you take action based on it.

lol.
Oh wise one, please enlighten me about these internet laws.
Also, my religious bible is the discography of Lady Gaga. Hence the use quotes everywhere in my profile.
QUEEN OF SASS
It's like, I just love a cowboy
You know
I'm just like, I just, I know, it's bad
But I'm just like
Can I just like, hang off the back of your horse
And can you go a little faster?!
... but in America we have something called freedom
Freedom is one thing but is it freedom when you try to force your beliefs on someone else? If we are truly free to worship what we want then why do others try to force their religion on others? It's a two way street if a person gets offended by say someone saying a Christian verse, then they shouldn't expect people to not be offended if say the start saying a Muslim verse or Buddhist or whatever religion they are.

I'm not forcing my beliefs on anyone. I put the bible verse (Book & Number) in my signature there. If anyone wants to look up the book & number in the bible. If I really wanted to be extreme about it. I could write out Matthew 5:1-12 the whole scripture line for line in my signature. If people are offended by just putting the book & number on from the bible then no offense but people are way to thin skinned these days...
I've come to the point when its buddhist etc its better to not bother saying anything because of arguements online etc & basically ignore it. I don't understand if its christian though why we automatically get in trouble whether its online or where ever.
Good example:
This happened years ago when I was in school as well year 2000. I remember 5th grade I brought in a pink bible to the public elementary school & before I could even open it to read for recess silently to myself another student (She was catholic btw) pulled the book out of hand & gave it to the 5th grade teacher before I could even defend myself or say anything. The teacher ened up calling my parents & I ended up getting back my bible from the teacher so long as I agreed I would not get up in front of the class & start preaching which I had no intention of doing it was solely for my reading pleasure at recess time. I brought it with me at the time as something to read during recess because at the time electronics weren't allowed in school & I was bored out of mind at the school.
@Barbiegurl777. Wasn't saying that you were I was just saying people in general. And the reasons at least why I believe Christians get so much flack is because if you look back throughout history Christians have always pushed their religion on others. Look at the Crusades for example, the conflict going on in the Middle East today, the persecution of the Native Americans.
I honestly don't care about what people believe in whether it's a god The God, Buddha or James Woods. Thing is people need to remember that we all are different including our beliefs and we need to respect that in a civil way. If you don't want to hear me preach about Jesus and the Apostles then I will respect that just don't start preaching to me about my sins cause I don't worship your religion of choice.
