Topic: Reset Used 3DS

I purchased an ambassador 3DS off eBay. It came with the ambassador games, other digital games, and a few physical games. I booted it up and NSMB2 already has over a million coins collected, Mario Kart 7 has everything unlocked, etc.

I would like it be be as if I just purchased everything brand new and am starting from scratch like it'd never been played. What is the best way for me to go about this? Thank you!

simple, for your case delete the games and download again! since you want to keep the games you shouldn't reset it.

If you format the 3DS, you'll lose everything on the system including the ambassador games. You can just simply delete the games and redownload them from the eShop to reset them (or delete data individually).

oh but don't forget you can backup the save data if you want!

Thanks for the replies. What about for physical games, like Mario Kart 7? How do I reset that since I can't uninstall/reinstall it.

well for retail games I don't know but most games have a delete saved data option/button sequence

Read the electronic manual of MK7. Somewehere in there, it says something about a button combination to delete the save data.

I think some physical games have "Extra Data", so check that section in the Data Management settings. You can also probably erase all data in the game itself.

I don't think you understood my question like the others did. Obviously I want to keep the games, I just want to reset any progress within the games.
