We have 2 Mii' s created on my Switch, one is linked to a nintendo account (mine) and the other isn't (my wife's). We recently made some changes to the look of our Mii s. Now when we play online multiplayer on Mario Kart 8 Deluxe, both of our characters show her Mii. Mine has kept it's score, name and previous character/vehicle combination. But the image against her name and the Mii when selecting a track show both as her Mii.
@MrPaul91 You can change the Mii for the primary user in the 'stats' page (from the main menu) ..if it still won't work - try closing and relaunching the software (could be a 'cookie' thing?)
@NaviAndMii thanks very much that seems to have worked. Another problem we've had lately is that my wife recently changed her Mii appearance, in MK8 it shows both her old appearance and new appearance , but the new appearance doesn't keep her score or kart choice.
When my girlfriend and I stared playing MK8D, she'd only use her Mii (no user profile) - but we discovered that her online rank etc would reset every time I closed the software (it'd stay if I 'suspended' the game, but reset if I fully closed it) ..so what I did was set her up a user account on system level, then launched the game (just once) using her profile to create a full game save under her account - now, whenever we play together online, her full account will show up as an option, like this:
Her 'User' profile (top) seems to keep her score etc permanently at system level, the 'Mii' profiles (below) only store the scores temporarily and will reset every time the software is fully closed...
Ok guys, I'm frustrated here, for the life of me, I can't seem to get my mii to show up into the "user" section at all. It's my switch, I have a nintendo account, I'm he only user of my system, but when playing 2 player MK8 Deluxe, user is always blank. Please anyone... Help! Many thanks
@NaviAndMii I've tried the process you've mentioned and selected my primary user in stats and restarted the game and even console and "user" field is still left blank in online co-op =(
@Merqury On the above screenshot, the user 'littlepea' (my girlfriends account) is an option for Player 2 only - my account ('TomCat★' - not shown) is automatically logged in as Player 1 by default...to have a second option for another player, you need to create a second user account in the OS and run Mario Kart as that user (just once) to create a second save on the system - then, when you play on your account, the secondary account should show up on the menu as above. Hope that helps!
split-screen multiplayer 2-4 players (with one console)
online multiplayer
local wireless = multiple consoles can play each other with the Switch's local wireless function (it's like bluetooth)
