Topic: Mario Kart 8 Stuck on title screen

I have the Disc of Mario Kart 8. We bought the DLC for it yesterday. The game was working just fine, until today. Now it's stuck on the title screen. I can still hear sounds, but it doesn't do anything. All my other games work just fine. MK8 doesn't. Anyone know what to do?

Are you using a Wii U Pro controller? I've had issues with mine failing to work in MK8 sometimes and getting stuck on the title screen. The GamePad should still work if that's the case, but I usually end up closing and re-opening the game to get the Pro controller to work.

It doesn't work on the Game pad either. It's just stuck on the title screen forever. No matter what I try, it stays on the title screen.

Maybe the game just froze? Or is this a repeated problem?

Uninstall the DLC from your Wii U and try again - sounds like the only thing to do. You'll be able to download it again.

Mine ended up in a weird state - version 2.0 but supposedly with the DLC. The only way to get it to work was to uninstall the update. (Via System Settings - Data Management)

Which then got reapplied when starting the game again. (Showing 3.0)

I've deleted the DLC, and the update, (which just re downloaded again) Still stuck on the title screen.

Then try to move your game and dlc to your system's memory if it's the downloadable version because it sounds like it could be a faulty hard-drive.

I am having this error as well. I just turned on my Wii U for the first time in while to try out the new content (DLC Pack 2 that I preordered), however the game gets stuck on the loading screen. I've tried to uninstall the old content, however still caught on the black loading screen.

I've also tried the controller idea someone suggested, but still no go.
Any ideas on how to fix this issue? I would appreciate any help, and would praise your name, and have a toast in your honor.

I have to delete the update before to get it to work right - Automatically gets redownloaded (But it was when DLC Pack 1 came out).

I tried Deleting all my DLC packs. And still nothing.

I just put in a support ticket to Nintendo, hopefully they have some answers. Would love to play the new tracks!
