Hi, I am using Google chrome on vista and I sometimes get a malware detection screen when surfing this site, It might be because of those ads that pop up, but they are blocked from coming up by my browser. Can the blocked ads get your information or do anything to your computer? And has anyone else had this problem? thanks.

I don't know about this problem, but I've had some random-butt audio play on Nintendo Life pages sometimes, for no apparent reason. Sounds like it's coming from a radio site, but I don't know how it's getting on here!

It's a pop-up ad. And it's fkn terrible! Certain ads like this have been known to use both the "OK" and "Cancel" buttons as approval to proceed and install. Here's a tip: If you ever get one of those virus-detected type ads, hit CTRL+ALT+DEL to bring up your Task Manager (Windows, clearly) and end the broswer task. Just dead that shit on the spot.
Sometimes make sure that its your security that detects the virus or whatever you have, I know a friend who clicked on delete all from a supposed security and it really screwed up his computer. Also I've never experienced any of the problems previously mentioned and even if I did my security would destroy the threat immediately. I'm running Internet Explorer 8 on Vista with McAfee security if you want to know.

this this this. it's funny when those stupid pop-up ads show up on Linux systems, but i can definitely see where a normal Windows user would get confused by them. Kill the browser window.

xD Windows is best for certain things and linux is best for using it as a server Mac is well don't know about it that much
don't get me wrong: i'm not trying to start up any 'my OS is better than yours' crap; i said what I said in that comment because those pop-up ads (the last couple I saw, at least) show an image of a Windows user's 'My Computer' or 'My Documents' folders that may be mistaken for an honest-to-goodness explorer window and fool a casual Windows user into clicking the wrong thing, which would install the program. I remember I lol'd pretty hard and even called in my husband to take a look at it before I killed the window because it was so realistic to a Windows system, and yet that computer was running Ubuntu. :3

Oo okay I didn't imply that you did cause I know the computer I'm on isn't that good cause it was defective and had to be sent to HP to be repaired and now it isn't that good
