Topic: Loading troubles on Wii

Bought Madden 07 for £2.97 from Game used before Christmas only just got around to playing it and it crashes out with a load error on the initial loading screen and I have to reset the Wii. I've tried multiple times and it keeps doing it... there is a scratch on the disc, but I've seen worse ones on some discs and they run fine. It's too late to take it back and for less than 3 quid it'll make a useful spare Wii Disc case and and a kick-ass coaster, but does anyone have any solutions to get it to run?

If not I saw it pre-owned in GameStop for £21.99 so might make some money back by trading it in there.

Well, it depends on where the scratch is and how deep. You could get one of those disc repair kits to see if that helps...

The scratch is is about 7 mm in from the discs outer edge. It's about a centimetre long but is quite deep... I mean, I've seen worse, much worse, but it is a deep one. It' is probably repairable. I'll look into it.

I cannot recall if the Wii does a reverse read (outer edge to inner) like the Gamecube, so that could well be the issue.

It probably is in all honesty... it was only £3 so I'm not bothered particularly, but it'd be nice to have a working disc.
