Hello, i am really new in nintendo switch world. I have bought it to play it in 2 people. Unfortunately when i try to select the option: 2 players, at the very beginning, it says me i cant, unless i connect a proper controller device.
I thought we could use one dock each honestly...Should i buy an additional controller?
Thank you very much

New Super Mario Bros U Deluxe?
Each player needs a controller, yes. Whether it’s a mix of single joycon, joycon grips, joycon sets, pro controllers.

Yes is Super Mario Bros U Deluxe. Each players needs a controller, sure, but i thought i could use the right joycon and my daughter the left one, both detached from the central console. Is this correct or should i necessairly buy a new controller ON TOP of the two joycons (left and right) provided in the box?

@mrblue Yep, you can use a single Joy-con each. Just make sure they're both connected as separate controllers. (To check this, look at the small lights on the side of the controller. If they're connected separately, player 1's controller will have one light on and player 2's controller will have two lights on.) If they're not connected separately, go to the Controllers page on the Switch's main menu and select Change Grip/Order, then press the SL and SR buttons on one Joy-con, then do the same on the other Joy-con.
