Topic: How much is my 3DS worth?

I have a 3DS that I want to sell, but there is a problem with the touch screen. The left side of the touch screen is broken and doesn't work. An example is, when I try to type A, I type J. It actually happened!!! Anyway, I'm just wondering if anyone knows about the value. The specs of the 3DS are: Chrome Blue, Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon pre-installed.

Well since it's not working right you might want to send it in for repair before selling it cause no one will by it in the state it's in. The only other option that I know of is Gamestop will take it as is but you will get less then if it was working correctly.

That's the thing. I want to get a New Nintendo 3DS with the money, but if I send it in for repairs, Nintendo is charging $70 for the repair, which would basically get me a $30 discount on the N3DS, and that's kind of pointless.

Yeah, that's the thing though. Your 3DS in its current state is pretty much worthless in resale. $30 is probably the best you can hope for. You can do the repair and sell the refurbished unit, or post it on eBay "as is."

So Anakin kneels before Monster Mash and pledges his loyalty to the graveyard smash.

Or trade it to Gamestop and put that credit towards a New 3DS. I did that with an Xbox 360 of mine that didn't read discs anymore. I took it to them and traded it towards a PS4. It's better then just having it sit around collecting dust.

Bottom line though unless you fix it you won't get much for it I'm afraid.

You're probably right, so I guess that's what I'll do, but Gamestop once gave me $70 for a NES. That's one of the worst deals I ever got, seeing as they are selling for over $150 on Ebay. But a lot of my games need touch screen, so I'm probably going to have to.

I understand where your coming from I hate dealing with Gamestop but really I don't see an alternative. You can try to sell it as is but look at it this way if some is going to buy it they will have to pay to get it repaired so they will take that in consideration. Now look how much a used 3DS is going for at Gamestop and then knock the repair bill off. Not only that but also take in the convince factor. Whoever buys it will have to send it off to get repaired so there's that.

So yeah a place like Gamestop will be your best bet.

Gamestop is selling a 3DS like mine for 119.99, so if the repairs cost 69.99, I would get $50. That's actually much better than I thought it would be, but I just was checking the forums one last time before I make a decision. What do you think?

Actually, the price is only $100. IU would only get the $30. (Unless I did intense Gamestop haggling.) Is it still worth it?
