I seem to be having the problem with drifting. And yet I'm still stuck on the Special Cup on 100cc. Is there any way to play properly?

Best thread ever.

Copy, Paste

Drift

You can drift by holding down the L or R button when going around corners. It
allows you to take sharper corners without loss of speed, so is good for
many of the game's courses. To start it, turn and press R to set the direction,
and you can also adjust the direction of the drift slightly by using the analog
stick as you go anyway.

Analog stick? The game was designed for D-pad, and I think it's best played that way, personally. Keep in mind that drifting does not work like in Mario Kart 64 and most sequels thereafter. There's no mini-boost, so you don't have to keep wiggling the kart back and forth for no apparent reason.

Also, the Help forum is for help with the forum. If you want help with a VC game, you should ask for it on the VC board.
