The fact you are getting some picture suggests to me the Wii is working ok and that it's just an issue with your TV receiving or presenting the signal from your Wii.
Check your cable from the Wii to the TV. Is it loose or damaged (remember - not all cable damage will be visible)? Try another cable if you have one, or consider getting a replacement if the existing one is not loose.
If you're sure it's not the TV or the cable, then it's the console, in which case I would try the good old fashioned 'give it a blow then a whack' technique - check the port for the cable on the back of the Wii for any obvious obstructions, dust, damage etc. then blow hard and see if there's any improvement. If not, give the console a good whack to see if that knocks anything back into place. If it doesn't you may as well replace the console. Used Wii's can be picked up for next to nothing in the main territories.
You guys had me at blood and semen.
What better way to celebrate than firing something out of the pipe?
2 years later so this may not be helpful. But I was having this issue with the av cable that has five plugs one green one blue one white and two reds. Turns out one of the red plug ins is for audio the other red one is for video/colour. I switched where the red cables plug into the back of my television and got my full spectrum of colours back. Hope this helps you or someone reading this post!
