I've been wanting to do some gameplay/commentary videos with my friends for some sometime now, but I have no idea how or where to begin. Could someone give me some advice as to what I need to record games and voice?

What console you're using, and also what the specs are like on your computer. Your computer doesn't need to be top-notch or anything, but good enough to record (otherwise you're gonna have to deal with lag in the videos)...Also internet if you plan on doing any streaming as well, which I do from time to time. (and easier for me, since uploading videos take FOREVER. xD)
I love Erica (Strike Witches), Eureka (Eureka Seven), and Tenma (School Rumble), stay away from them. xD
Update: Also love Yukari and Mizore from Rosario + Vampire.
Another Update: Also Yuuki...from School Rumble...
Yet Another Update: Also Amber and Xiao Pai from Rune Factory 4.

Yeah after that you just gotta decide on what capture device to nab, though I bought the Hauppauge at Amazon instead. (I think it was for about $150. Elgato from what I heard is more expensive and better quality...but requires a better computer. And Roxio...eh, I dunno, lol

@Erica I would like to have the ability to play anything from NES to Wii U so maybe something I could switch out a/v cables with HDMI (if that's possible) the computer specs I'm not sure because I was planning to use my friends laptop because my computer is absolute garbage. As with my internet I have to use satellite due to where I live, it's not the greatest but it will do.

Would I just use a USB microphone for doing commentary? How does that work.

I will warn you with Satellite it will be a pain especially with the upload limits they put on you especially if you have Hughes Net. I dont know this first hand but Roahm Mythril (you can look him up on Youtube) always complains about Hughes net.

I don't know if my service provider (wireless beehive) has upload limits, it is pretty bad but it's slowly getting better. I realize satellite sucks but at least I'm not planning on any live streams.
