My DSi system shuts down every time I barely move the top screen. :'( Anybody know what could be wrong? It started happening after I downloaded the personal trainer cooking demo today. Even though I bought it this year(obviously) the Nintendo Support webpage is saying I have to pay $50 to get it repaired! :'( here is what it said :

I have $50 dollars worth of DSiWare, so I don't want that gone. :'(
Also, I registered it on club nintendo the day I got it.

Did you break it, drop it, etc?

Btw, you won't lose your DSiware

I never dropped it, and it has no visible physical damage.
Looks like I'm going to be saving up for a while. :'( I already listed my club nintendo zelda posters on ebay.

Have you tried calling their customer support line? I'd trust someone official i could talk to over what someone on a set of forums said (sanctioned by Ninty or not) any day. :/

I just sent it in to Nintendo for a replacement. I wish they would have let me have a white one; I bought my black one before the white DSi was announced. :p
